"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat

The murderers arrived at the scene with their music blaring, apparently to muffle the sound of the gunshots.

The body of a deceased woman was found tonight in the María Martínez neighborhood, southeast of the city.

The victim was murdered in the neighborhood park, located on the corner of María Arias Bernal and María Teresa Rojas streets, in the back of a kindergarten.

Witnesses reported that men arrived at the park aboard a pickup truck at approximately 10:45 p.m.

The unofficial version is that they forced her out of the vehicle alive. In the middle of the park, in the dark, she was shot with a gun.

Neighbors heard three gunshots.

The killers came to the park with their music blaring, apparently to muffle the sound of the gunshots so that they wouldn’t be heard by the neighborhood.

Apparently the victim didn’t live in this area, none of the neighbors knew her.

Investigative police officers and experts from the Special Prosecutor for Crimes against Women are at the crime scene documenting evidence.

Elements of the National Guard protected the cordoned off perimeter.

The neighborhood is located east of the Independencia boulevard, near Santiago Troncoso Street.
