Culiacán, Sin.- The woman who died last night, Wednesday, November 20, after a shooting attack inside a house that was also intentionally burned in the Renato Vega Alvarado neighborhood, south of Culiacán, was a neighbor of the Centro neighborhood, according to authorities.

The lady was identified as Juana, 47 years old, residing in the Centro neighborhood of this city and in addition to having carbon monoxide (smoke) intoxication, she had two gunshot wounds to the abdomen.

According to the information, the attack occurred around 10 o'clock last night in a house located on Mina del Peñon Blanco street, between Límite and Segunda avenues of the neighborhood, which is located next to 22 de Diciembre and Villa Bonita.

According to witnesses, there were several armed men who arrived at the property in several pickup trucks and after entering the house where the woman lived, they shot at her on several occasions and then set fire to the house with gasoline, after which the gunmen fled in an unknown direction.

It was the neighbors themselves who helped the woman who was inside the burning house who alerted the authorities, so minutes later a group of paramedics and urban rescue technicians from the Gerum group arrived at the site, who helped the woman in the front yard of the house, but she no longer had vital signs.

The scene was attended by personnel from the different police forces and the State Attorney General's Office to confirm the facts where they found several R15 .223 millimeter caliber rifle cartridges, while personnel from the Forensic Medical Service removed the body and transferred it to the Semefo to perform the legal tests.

    1. There was a reason why this happened. This was not a random act. She most likely was selling drugs for Chapitos. You play in the game then you must be ready for the circumstances. Nuff Said!!!

  3. Wow. A busy day kidnapping a 47yo female avocado vendor and murdering a 42yo woman in her house! Boy these cartel guys sure are some tough guys!! Especially when dealing with unarmed women and children. The only way any of this can make any sense is that there must be a special place in Hell for these animals!

    1. Citizens should arm themselves, if they know they are about to get killed. Should a lady succeed, in self defense. She must relocate, because the laws in Mexico favor the criminal cartels, more than it's citizens.

  6. Tell me you don’t know anything about guns, without telling us. .223 is in INCHES, not “millimeter caliber”…whatever the fuck that is? The bullet diameter is 5.7mm. .223 Remington AKA 5.56(inches)x45mm. Yes, there are pressure differentials, but they are usually interchangeable. You’re welcome.
