Luis Alfonso López Reátiga, alias Toner, one of the alleged security chiefs of Los Chapitos, was arrested last Wednesday, February 26, when he was hospitalized in a private clinic in this city of Culiacán.

According to the data, the arrest took place shortly before 9:00 p.m., in the facilities of the Médica de la Ciudad hospital, located on Álvaro Obregón Avenue.

During his arrest, Toner was wearing a hospital gown. The reasons for his hospitalization are unknown at this time, however, unofficial data indicate that he was injured during a confrontation with security forces.

According to the National Registry of Arrests (RND), the arrest was carried out by agents of the Federal Ministerial Police.

It also states that López Reátiga is in the Aguaruto Penitentiary Center.

The three were transferred under a strong security device to the Military Air Base at the Culiacán International Airport.

Following a report of a fight at the Aguaruto Prison, weapons, satellite internet and cell phones were seized in a search

Culiacán, Sinaloa.– Following a report of a fight, a new search was carried out at the Aguaruto Penitentiary Center in Culiacán, where cell phones, radios, knives, screwdrivers, gram scales, satellite internet systems and modems, among other prohibited objects, were seized.

During the early hours of this Friday, February 7, 2025, the National Guard and the State Preventive Police carried out security actions outside provided by the Secretariat of National Defense.

It should be remembered that the persons deprived of liberty reported an alleged fight and armed subjects in module 5 of the Aguaruto prison. So far this information has not been confirmed by the authorities.

All of these prohibited objects were made available to the ministerial authority so that the relevant investigations can be carried out and responsibilities can be determined.

Omar García Harfuch, Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, reported that the clandestine monitoring center seized on January 21 in the Las Quintas neighborhood in Culiacán belonged to the Los Chapitos faction.

During the morning press conference on Tuesday, the federal official said that the building, which had a video surveillance system similar to the C4i, had been operating for three months.

The house of the Marquitos Toys family was shot at this Wednesday afternoon in the Barrancos sector in Culiacan.

So far no injuries have been reported after the aggression.

During the aggression, the garage area caught fire, for which the State Preventive Police used fire extinguishers while the firemen arrived.

The attack

The events occurred on Eligio Ancona and Antonio Nakayama streets, when it was said that there were loud gunshots.

A video of about 40 seconds shows a group of armed gunmen with long rifles rescuing someone who was lying on the floor allegedly is El Gavilan. Furthermore,  it is unknown how this ambush occurred at this moment, or if it was mistaken friendly gunfire.

Culiacán, Sin.- A woman and a child died during the night of Sunday, December 29th during a fire in a house located in the Bosques del Álamo subdivision, very close to Los Mezcales, north of Culiacán.

The woman was identified as Astrid 'N', 26 years old, and her son Dante 'N', 6 years old, who were inside the house at the time of the tragic event.

The fire was reported at around 6:05 p.m. to the 911 emergency service, where, so far, it has not been reported whether it was provoked or if it was an accident, since it was reported that it could have been a violent attack, although neighbors assured that no firearm detonations were heard and said that the fire occurred because of a Christmas pinito.

Minutes later, members of the Culiacan Fire Department arrived at the site, who extinguished the flames and Red Cross personnel confirmed that, unfortunately, both men no longer had vital signs.

Municipal police officers cordoned off the area and requested the presence of investigative and forensic personnel to carry out the corresponding procedures in order to confirm whether this was a violent incident or an accident.

La Chapiza, or Los Chapos Cartel, as we all can remember, kidnapped about 66 people, including children, when the home of the infamous Ivan Archivaldo Guzman Salazar was burglarized. La Chapiza kidnapping relatives or families is nothing new, but for La Mayiza to openly state that they will also start to kidnap relatives or family members of Los Chapos is another escalation of the current Sinaloa Civil War.
