US Charges 28 Sinaloa Cartel Members, Including 'El Chapo's' Sons, With Fentanyl Charges

"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat

The situation occurs in view of the US investigations into fentanyl trafficking.

The U.S. Department of Justice today filed charges against 28 members of the Sinaloa Cartel, including the sons of drug trafficker Joaquín 'El Chapo' Guzmán, as part of an extensive investigation into fentanyl trafficking.

Attorney General Merrick Garland announced the charges along with U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Director Anne Milgram and other top federal prosecutors.

The charges were brought against Sinaloa Cartel leaders, as well as alleged chemical suppliers, laboratory supervisors, fentanyl traffickers, security chiefs, financial operators and arms traffickers.

The indictments announced Friday charge Guzman's three sons, known as 'Los Chapitos,' who have earned a reputation as the most violent and aggressive faction of the cartel.

The indictments also charge Chinese and Guatemalan nationals accused of supplying the precursor chemicals needed to manufacture fentanyl. Other defendants in the cases include those accused of running drug manufacturing laboratories and providing security and weapons for the drug trade, prosecutors said.

Nearly 107,000 Americans died from drug overdoses in the United States in 2021.

The leader of the Sinaloa Cartel was convicted in 2019 of running an industrial-scale smuggling operation.

During 'El Chapo's trial, prosecutors said evidence gathered since the late 1980s showed he and his criminal cartel made billions of dollars by smuggling tons of cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine and marijuana into the United States.

Defiant, the Mexican accused the federal judge in his case of making a mockery of the U.S. justice system and claimed he was denied a fair trial.

    1. I was just thinking that . The federal sentencing for fentanyl distribution is worse than all other drugs . He better escape while he has a chance even if it’s super slim because once he gets sent to a USP he’s not getting the chance

  3. They are looking to seek life in prison for all Los Menores.

Ovidio is finished if he makes it to DC. These charges make it seem like they won't even want to trade, but seek the maximum penalty.

    no deals no nothing. wow.

  5. In the indictment they’re charging chapitos for the murder of La Liebre in Phoenix AZ in 2021. They’re getting hit with all kinds of charges. This indictment puts pressure for their arrest and extradition.

  9. The Southern District indictment is the one

Prosecutors learned from using the machine gun statute against the president of Honduras, and his top guy

    that raises the stakes

the real salacious parts about testing on humans, and tigers, helps hit home the idea that the US is going to punish those responsible for the fentanyl crisis who are deranged monsters.

    6. 07:55 Zambada makes plant based hashish, live resin, mescaline, and shroomz. Everything is organic and pharmaceutical grade in purity.

Their methamphetamine is 98.756% pure, plant based and made in Germany, China, and Rhamat Gan Israel. It is 100% dextro-methamphetamine thanks to recent advances in science and chemistry. When they can't get it from them they order 7 burros from the Taliban. 3 burros of cocaine is traded for 4 burros of meth and 2 burros of heroin, and one burro of hashish.

Zambada is a CIA agent living in Mexico and living under an assumed name.
