Villa de Cos, Zacatecas: Dismembered Bodies Discovered By Authorities

On Monday morning, at least four dismembered bodies were thrown to the side of the road near the entrance to the community of González Ortega, belonging to this municipality.

The finding was reported around 8:30 a.m. to Emergency System 911 by citizens traveling through that area, since the human remains could be seen with the naked eye.

Immediately a strong police operation was deployed that went to that area to confirm what was reported.

Upon arrival of the Municipal Police officers corroborated the report and the place was secured and then the corresponding authorities were notified.

The dismembered bodies were inside sacks; in addition, two cardboards with messages alluding to organized crime were located.

Official sources initially reported that four dismembered bodies were disposed of in that area.

Entry into the community was partially closed with the corresponding limits for the members of the Investigation Police to carry out the first investigations.

The place was kept under surveillance with the support of elements of the Mexican Army and State Preventive Police (PEP).

Also about four kilometers towards the community of Santiaguillo, an abandoned gray Toyota Tundra was located that was allegedly used to throw away the human remains. The assailants were said to have fled. 

Experts from the Zacatecan Institute of Forensic Sciences (IZCF) arrived to take charge of the corresponding work. Along with the removal of the human remains to be analyzed and identified. They are currently listed as unknown.
