Two Subjects Arrested With Four Weapons, 100 Grenades And Cartridges In Guasave

 "Ivan" for Borderland Beat

Two men were arrested while transporting weapons, grenades, cartridges and chargers on a bus in Guasave.

The Attorney General's Office reported that through the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime (FEMDO), he was linked to the process and informal preventive detention.

The defendants are Isaac "H" and Miguel "M", for being likely responsible for the crimes of stockpiling firearms and possession of chargers for firearms, both for the exclusive use of the Armed Forces.

On February 6, derived from an anonymous complaint, elements of the Federal Ministerial Police (PFM), managed to arrest these people on the Mexico-15 highway, Guasave-Las Brisas section.

The two men were traveling on board a bus where four firearms, nine chargers, 100 cylindrical grenades and 100 useful cartridges were found in the air conditioning compartment of the drivers' cabin.

In another criminal case in Puebla, Efrén "R", was accused of being probably responsible for crimes against health in the form of transporting methamphetamine and carrying a firearm for the exclusive use of the Armed Forces.

According to the investigation folder, Efrén "R" was apprehended on February 3, 2022 by elements of the PFM, in Paraíso, Tabasco, in compliance with an arrest warrant that was against him and that was issued by a Judge of Control of the Federal Criminal Justice Center in the State of Puebla.

This individual was initially arrested in March 2018 on the Mexico-Puebla highway, at the height of the San Martín Texmelucan toll booth, in the direction of Mexico City, when he was aboard a vehicle in which he was transporting methamphetamine and a firearm; however, at the initial hearing, the Judge decreed an order not to be linked to the process. Given these facts, the Prosecutor's Office filed an appeal and a Unitary Court decided to revoke the resolution and issued an order linking the process.

Subsequently, and by virtue of the aforementioned, the parties were notified of the date for the hearing, which Efrén “R” did not attend, which is why this FGR requested the arrest warrant.

  3. These criminal groups supposedly have caches of hand grenades. Yet their use doesn't seem to be widespread. If they have 'em, God forbid, why are they not using them?

    2. James, I wondered the same as you. apparently grenades can be purchased for 30CENTS apiece to MX groups?!?I have read that old grenadas are sold from Honduras, as they literally have an arsenal of them left over from the 80's cold war that the US left there while fighting communism in the region.
You never hear about them being used though. Are they now 50yr old duds? I thought this interesting
