Comitas, Nuevo León: Armed Attack Between Los Zetas And Gulf Cartel

"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat

Once again, the dark night was a silent witness to the wave of violence that prevailed in the state limits of Tamaulipas and Nuevo León.

During the early morning a strong confrontation between the different factions of organized crime occurred on the road that leads to the town of "Comitas" in Nuevo León.

At least two totally destroyed Improvised Armored Fighting Vehicles (IAFVs) remained at the site. In addition, a 30 meters radius of blood spots could be seen, as well as hundreds of rounds.

Five bodies were found inside a burned-out vehicle, three of them completely burned.

Two of the "fallen in battle" had fifth degree burns, however one individual was still identified, which is supposedly a plaza chief, nicknamed "La Sombra."

Two bodies were also reported lying on the brush, which, judging by their clothing, are presumed to be organized crime gunmen.
