Reynosa: Grupo Sombra’s “El Comandante 40” Arrested

FGE stops a probable kidnapper and member of the organized crime group called “Grupo Sombra".

Panuco, Veracruz:  Through a coordinated tactical intelligence operation, in which the Attorney General of the State of Veracruz (FGE) participated, through the Ministerial Police assigned to the Tantoyuca northern zone; as well as the Secretary of the Navy (SEMAR) highlighted in Reynosa and ministerial elements of the state of Tamaulipas, Eduardo Ramón “N”, alias “El Comandante 40” and / or “El Bachiller”, who is considered a main objective of the Security Bureau of the north zone, identified as a high generator of violence and likely member of the organized crime group called "Shadow Group"and /or Grupo Sombra.



He was arrested in the Las Fuentes neighborhood of the city of Reynosa, Tamaulipas, in compliance with the arrest warrant obtained by the Regional Prosecutor's Office of the Northern Tantoyuca area, within Criminal Procedure 159/2018, which was issued by the Control Judge with residence in the Judicial District of Pánuco, for the probable commission of the crime of aggravated kidnapping.

The events that are attributed to Eduardo Ramón “N” occurred on November 25, 2018, on the dirt road that leads from El Nuevo Chicayán to the El Retache congregation, where he is suspected of depriving two victims of protected identity and demanded cash from their relatives.

Upon being presented at an initial hearing, the probable kidnapper Eduardo Ramón “N” was declared the legalization of his detention; likewise, the Prosecutor's Office obtained the origin of its imputation and the imposition of the precautionary measure of informal preventive detention for a period of two years; its legal status will be defined on August 7, in a process binding hearing.

In the operation, an arrest warrant was also executed against Pedro “N”, alias “La Burra”, a probable accomplice of the first detainee, who had a judicial injunction against him for the alleged commission of the crime of qualified malicious injuries, as stated in Criminal Case 21/2017, instructed by the First Judge of First Instance based in Pánuco.
