Criminals install fake checkpoint to rob motorists in Tamaulipas

The armed group forced motorists to pull over so that they could review their belongings and strip them of their personal possessions.

At least eight suspected criminals installed a fake checkpoint to rob all motorists and tractor trailer drivers that were traveling along the highway in Reynosa, Tamaulipas.

The armed group pulled over a four-door truck and forced motorists of the Tamaulipas highway to review their belongings and deprived them of money, jewelry and everything that was of value.

The members of organized crime were standing in the middle of the road, and every vehicle that passed through the area was subject to a review. But the main objective of these criminals were the truck drivers.

At the time of forcing a driver for an inspection, the thugs identified themselves as members of the Reynosa Group, belonging to the Gulf Cartel. While wielding their assault rifles to intimidate the drivers, who had to hand over all their belongings.

The checkpoint was installed by the Gulf Cartel cell on the Viaduct, which is a toll road that runs from Reynosa to Matamoros and vice versa, where robberies are commonly committed in the absence of surveillance by the Federal Police and the State Police from Tamaulipas.

In addition, the Viaduct is known as a war zone, where there have been many confrontations between members of the Gulf Cartel and State Police elements.

It is common that in that road section people appear executed, because it is territory dominated by the aforementioned cartel, who, apart from confronting the police, now are dedicated to assaulting drivers and drivers of privately owned vehicles.

The fact was made known through a video broadcast on Twitter and in which “The facts speak in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, where there is zero percent security for the highway robberies that joins the three following municipalities of San Fernando Reynosa and Matamoros

Video translation is as follows:

Driver: Excuse me?
Sicario #1: Lets see. Open your wallet, let me check your wallet.
Your pockets. Let me see what all is in your pockets.
Driver: Brother, I don’t have anything.
Sicario #1: What about your back pockets old man? Give me that cell phone.
Sicario #2: Give me that watch. Come on take it off.
Driver: Give me a chance to take it off.
Sicario #1: You don’t have a cell phone? What do you have over there? Let me see!
Driver: Brother, that’s just medicines.
Sicario #1: Whats in that suitcase? What do you have here?
Sicario #2: Lets fucking go already

    6. @9:51 Some people do actually have to be told to go to work. Otherwise they’ll just continue to keep fucking off wherever they go. And it does anger them when you tell them to do so. I’ve been in different places where there are people that think they can just sham away.

  13. I like that comment from Sol. We, the hardworking people of the world who put in our 8, 10 or 12+ hours may not have a lot sometimes but the car, the cell phone, what little we did have was from honest work. And it makes me angry to hear old people are being robbed. That could be my mom or dad! No respect.

  19. Sol: IMO, This is just another indicator of how far Mexico coninues falling. This kind of must be hurting AMLO's credibility.
I can hardly wait for the gradiose 16th of September PARADE where Mexico shows off it's vounted military powers. The Tambores de Guerra, the huge Mexican flag ceremony, the helicoters, marching snipers, the young cadets in 18th century uniforms, and the many other parade symbols of how powerful Mexico is. IMO, Mexico ought to cancel the "show" .... In view of things are all over Mexico the parade is an comical and ironic display of Government impotence. I will be watching.

  26. This is what I fear living in Mexico. But to be quite honest I fear Federal Police road blocks just as much. They steal from your car and wallet and find way's so they can to extort you. Happening to me now and I have to find other routes to avoid them. They rob with impunity. You are in-between a rock and a hard place here in Mexico. Some have a license to steal and others do it at gunpoint with fake licenses, and police or military clothing.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Why do the cartels feel the need to kidnap and extort after they are getting paid huge from drugs? If you lose the support of the public your days are numbered. If the drug lords were smart , they should invest in infrastructure, provide construction jobs and build low cost housing for the regular people. That is horrible to victimize your own people from your hometown or state
