"El Gordo": Arrested While Stealing Beer

Translated by Yaqui for Borderland Beat from: MiMorelia

Luis Alberto H., 25 years old, aka "El Gordo", was arrested and found among his belongings an AK-47 rifle.  In quick action, the Ministry of Public Security ( SSP ), secured a person in possession of a large-caliber weapon and recovered a vehicle that had previously been reported stolen.

Derived by a report of the theft of a truck loaded with beer, the elements of the Michoacán Police activated an operative for the search and location. On the road to Minsicuiran , belonging to the community of Capácuaro , the soldiers observed a man aboard the International brand unit , of the Rabon line , reported stolen moments before, as well as the 350 boxes of beer .

During the review, Luis Alberto H., 25 years old, aka "El Gordo", was found to have among his belongings a 7.62 × 39 caliber AK-47 rifle supplied with a magazine and 22 cartridges. The SSP works permanently to guarantee the free transit of merchandise along the roads of the entity and will present to the corresponding authorities the perpetrator.

    1. The reason I posted this “non news” story is it is , unfortunately, another sad reality in Mexico. A delivery gone awry, doesn’t even tell us what happened to the legitimate delivery driver. I know small business people that stock their stores / tiendas themselves; in one case THE ONLY tienda in a small village in which everyone depends.........he is a super hard worker and he can barely make his town run for stock without fear of being robbed and / or held up. He cannot even make a one day turn around often, if he gets hung up in town he stays overnight because he won’t drive back to the rural village at night. This is NOT in the most dangerous parts of Mexico, but those lines are becoming ever more blurred .
Plus, here is a guy robbing a truck with an AK 47, he just happens to carry around with him.........sad indeed , a tragic reality in Mx today.
The “ news” , to me anyway, is not just about big bad narco guys but their effect on society as a whole.

  4. If I was the driver I would move far away and get a new identity. I wouldn’t work as a driver at least for some time until their anger subsided and they forget.
