Semei Verdia to be released and American tourist assisted citizens in attack by government forces

Lucio R. Borderland Beat

Update on the Semei Verdia release below

New video at bottom

In this video I would recommending beginning around 1:30, before then is wasted shaky footage.

View the video keeping in mind the government said those killed and wounded, mostly children, was due to the firing of weapons from armed citizens.

They had to revise the story after videos appeared showing citizens were not armed, except for those armed with black painted sticks.  The government then said government forces, “shot into the air”, which may have resulted in some people being hit.

Witnesses, including tourists said soldiers indiscriminately shot at anything, buildings, people outside, anything.  Some people were hit simply sitting inside their homes.

This action by federal forces goes even beyond extrajudicial killings of late, these amount to the slaughter of innocents.

This event stemmed from the arrest of the Indigenous autodefensa leader Semei Verdia on July 19th

In this footage heard is a barrage of weapons firing into an area where people were outside.  A 17 year old boy named Delfino Antonio Alejo, is taking bean tacos to his father when he is shot in the back.  People gather around the boy, and an American, who was blocked from travelling further because of the roadblocks, offers to take the child to Colima for medical assistance.  His voice can be heard at the end of the video.

He and other tourists said protesters and citizens were unarmed, and soldiers did not seem to care who they injured or killed, they just shot “everywhere” at citizens.

Delfino has so far survived his injuries.

The lawyer of Semei Verdia, Ignacio Mendoza Jimenez,  said Monday the court issued a release order,  after having found no evidence against him.

It is expected his release will be in the next few hours.  The government presented no evidence in the case.

UPDATE:

After the courts issued a formal order of freedom for the indigenous autodefensa leader Semei Verdía Zepeda, due to lack of evidence in the case, in what is being described as political persecution, Michoacán Governor Jara has ordered new arrest warrants, to ensure Verdia remains imprisoned.

The Michoacán administration headed by  Governor Salvador Jara is pressuring  the judiciary to implement the new arrest warrants. (Jara in blue checked shirt above)

Jara was not elected into office, but stepped in for Fausto Vallejo, the governor who resigned because of controversy over the video tapes featuring his son “El Gerber” and Templarios leader “La Tuta”.

Jesus Reyna was the previous person named as a temporary governor while Vallejo was in the U.S. receiving a liver transplant.  Reyna was appointed by Vallejo, and later Reyna was arrested for his ties to the Templarios.

It was autodefensas leader Dr. Mireles who first brought attention to Reyna  as being in collusion with the Templarios and whose wife has family ties to the cartel.

Verdía would be leaving the Nayarit prison in the next few hours, but the leader of the Community Police of Ostula would be arrested again immediately, because right now a group of state police moved to Tepic to complete two arrest warrants against him; one for theft against the council and another for murder.

This action is identical to that in the case of American Nestora Salgado.  She also is a leader for indigenous people,  who the Mexican Government found the only to silence the popular leader is what they do when all else fails, imprisonment.

Saldago was hours away from release when she was hit with two warrants for murder, two murder charges seemingly out of thin air.

Dr. Manuel Mireles was also ordered released, however his attorney said a final decision for refiling charges would be made in another week.  Meanwhile, Dr. Mireles old attorney’s for some reason insist on intruding into the case and said new charges were filed.  However his attorney on record has not confirmed that those charges were accepted by the court.
United Nations Meeting

United Nations investigating Government forces shootings on July 19
Members of the United Nations (UN) met with  a meeting with a commission from the indígenas de la etnia náhuatl, of the community of Santa Maria de Ostula, in the municipality of Aquila, to document the violence committed by personnel of the federal  and state forces committed against residents.

The community spoke out against the actions of the government forces, and said that Semei Verdia was appointed comandante de la Fuerza Rural, and as such was carrying legally registered weapons.  It is noteworthy that Governor Jara says any release would have to be made with a condition the Verdia would no longer be a part of Rurales.

Which is why Jara resorted to “new charges”of murder and theft.  It was the state that charged him initially for having prohibited weapons.  The two guns are only illegal, if he was not part of a police or armed forces group.  He appointed commander gives him the right to bear the weapons he had in his possession

    7. Most of the corrupt people in mexico have mostly spaniard blood and the ones opressed have native blood. The soldiers which work for these corrupt people are indigenous and they come from really poor places and they dont get paid well & they are also really ignorant and they are willing to kill and harm other indegenous people if their spaniard blooded leaders say so.They also do more harm to people by stealing from them because they have really low pay. They also rape people because they dont have women around.Indegenous people kill each other off for money while the spaniard blooded "mexicans" take most of it.(carlos slim, pena nieto,salinas,etc..)south mexico is full of indegenous people who think communism is their only escape.I think nor communism nor capitalism is good.By the way mexicos revolution ONLY caused deaths....mexico never escaped from being slaves of spanish people(september 16 didnt help mexico in anything and i think its meaningless i also think 5 de mayo is meaningless).Revolution is not good though because t just causes more war and deaths.{Evolution is better than Revolution}we need to evolve/change our culture and become more civlized in mexico. We need to stop praising narco culture and we need to become united, northen mexicans should stop discriminating southern mexicans.A seperated mexico is not good.Opressing southern mexicabs can cause communism to be more supported there. We should all merge to have a better Mexico.I myself cant be racist since i have african blood from acapulco, spaniard blood and nahuatl & purepecha blood.

When you wrote about "Most of the corrupt people in mexico have mostly spaniard blood and the ones opressed have native blood," are you referring to the Aztec people or Native American Indians?

You are talking as though having differing bloodlines somehow makes an enemy? There is word for that kind of belief..Every single person posting here has many differing antecedents. You may have intellect but your ideas on bloodlines seems a little antiquated and biased..Who cares who has Spanish blood,African,French,German,Irish, who cares? The racial aspect seems to have no end in Mexico?

Well i said native blood because not all mexican people have the same type of blood. Most people from el DF have mejica blood(aztec is not the correct term)& most People from michoacan&guanajuato have purepecha blood .in yucatan their is coras & in yucatan their is mayas.Northern mexico doesnt have a high concentration of native bloods.
      @8:20
I said spaniard people control mexico and that the real natives of mexico deserve better and that they should wake up and realize that the revolution just caused deaths and that another revolution shouldnt be repeated and that
we should make the spaniards treat the natives well.(but we should do that peacefully)

  3. Here's an idea germinated by this mindless attack and the response of by-standers. Suppose groups of courageous US and European tourists go visit Ostula and nearby communities. There on the ground the eyes and ears of the world. Risky of course, but strength would be in sheer numbers, 50 or more in each community armed with video, GPS and communication equipment. The fearless tourist in the video gave me the idea. I think Europeans would come readily aboard. Yes they would be risking their lives, but what a cause to die for.

  8. It's time for the world to send a loud and clear message to the corrupt government of Mexico and hit President Pene Necio where it will hurt the most. He has been trying very hard to convince travel agencies that Mexico is safe for tourism because the money tourists spend will help revitalize the economy while adding tax revenues to the federal coffers.

I SAY THE WORLD SHOULD BOYCOTT MEXICO AND VACATION ANYWHERE ELSE IN THE WORLD! No more tourists flying into Cancun, Cabo San Lucas or Mexico City. Cancel your reservations at Mexican hotels or on AeroMexico. Do not spend a cent of your hard earned cash in Mexico and support this midget despot who is killing his own people, imprisoning the innocent who dare to speak the truth or that have the courage to fight against the scourge that is now in control of the military and the judiciary. Mexico is not safe for its own citizens and it sure as hell is not safe for tourists.

If the security situation in Mexico was in fact safe, as their president would have you believe, then why are so many wealthy Mexican citizens uprooting their families and relocating into other countries, predominantly the U.S? Why are so many former government officials now living in the U.S? Send Pena Nieto a message that we will not support him and his tyrannical acts against the people of Mexico BOYCOTT MEXICO!!

and probably the "foreign correspondents" who report every car bomb in bagdad cannot find a story every day in mexico.
There is some reason why US media are so tame about all this, they must be bought off.
they cover border vigilantes and falcon lake but never step foot into reynosa?
I would like to see exposed how this functions, how does US "free"press miss this story every time.

  13. If anyone in the world wants to know why an honest, law abiding citizen in Mexico is not allowed to buy firearms for their own protection, this is why. For years the Mexican government has suppressed relatively peaceful demonstrations against the government using force. This happened first in 1968 with the massacre of at least 43 university students protesting against the Mexican government in the capital city itself. Then this year the disappearance of at least another 43 students Iguala (I think), Mexico and now this adds to this trend. If a typical law abiding citizen were to have access to guns, just the sight of Mexican soldiers-never mind the police-indiscriminately shooting at peaceful demonstrators might cause them to activate their guns against the soldiers and this is Mexico's greatest FEAR. Retaliation against its own government forces by the common citizen. This however has more to do with a military system that is in place designed to protect itself more rather than to protect the citizens which they proudly profess to be protecting - I think!
