The lifeless body of a person, showing signs of torture and accompanied by written messages and large photographs, was found Monday morning on the sidewalk of Enrique Sánchez Alonso Boulevard, in the northbound lane, across from the main entrance to Plaza Cuatro Ríos, in the Tres Ríos area.
According to information provided by authorities, the discovery was made around 6:40 a.m., after the 911 emergency service received a report of a deceased person with a written message on a piece of cardboard, placed on the sidewalk.
Following the report, elements of the National Defense Secretariat (Sedena) arrived at the scene to confirm the report, finding the victim lying face up. The body was wearing a black jacket, and several photographs with written messages were placed on the abdomen.
Other objects, such as bricks, were also observed at the scene, apparently holding down the messages placed on the body. Preliminarily, no spent shell casings were visible at the scene; however, the authorities will determine if there is any ballistic evidence or evidence related to any type of firearm.
As a result of the discovery, the northbound lane of Enrique Sánchez Alonso Boulevard was temporarily closed while investigators conducted the necessary procedures. The opposite lane was opened to allow traffic in both directions.
To date, the victim's identity hasn’t been revealed, and the case remains under investigation by the authorities.
