They come in handy if you're working inside of a structure. You want to save your hearing here versus hearing that loud ringing noise that takes a while to fade away. It does help to decrease noise. But the downside is that your weapon gets dirtier quicker. Meaning it can just as easily cause it to jam on you. You've got to learn when to use it and when not to. It all comes down to the mission at hand.
