Mendez, Tamaulipas: Images That Portray The Harsh Realities

"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat

Video translation is as follows:

These images are truly overwhelming. Images of a wild Mexico, of a Mexico that never ceases to amaze us, images that portray the harsh reality of Tamaulipas. Burnt vehicles and charred bodies.

No authorities went to the crime scenes. Police officers who prefer to remain anonymous indicated that there is probably a truce for each group to come and pick up their dead. Try to imagine what we are talking about here.

  1. Tamaulipas is a wild state probably the craziest state in Mexico! Soo manny powerful factions. If you ask me cdn is benefitting the most from this war they hold 100 % of Nuevo Laredo and have done for 10+ years

  3. Its sad when u see this and how alot of people kinda glorify what they do .... That's coward shi- people have families ... But if u think about it it shows their level of stupidity, because there is enough money to go around for everybody and everybody can work together I don't think law enforcement don't chase em cause they wouldn't pose.a.risk to the general public, but these guys always wanna be the one in charge and want all the money it's like an ego thing then law enforcement pursues em til they are caught ... It's cause they r stupid .... EL ESTUPIDOS

    2. anybody that thinks "there's enough money to go around for everybody" has never, thankfully, been in the life..
greed becomes your god, it's dog-eat-dog..
gold fever sets in, if your dream was to work your way to a Porsche and a Rolex, now that you've got them, they seem trashy compared to the Ferrari and Philippe Patek that are the dreams that motivate you now..
It's like a woman who constantly keeps getting bigger breast implants, it's just never enough..

    3. @5.49. Yeah, it's naive. Like telling a serial killer there are enough women for everybody so be kind and act like a gentleman.

      Delete
    4. 5:49 There is enough for everybody, it's greed and stupidity, lack of respect and ego that has them fighting each other. When Toro got killed Panilo was his second in command, and he's the one that should have slid into that spot. He would have been a good choice. He doesn't believe in kidnapping for profit, extotion and tends to respect the average citizen. But they didn't respect that, so the Escorpiones got involved backing Panilo and the rest is history. If crybaby pelochas and Betillo would have respected that, things would have been smooth, but dumb ass Betillo thought he should have a slice of that leadership thing just because he was related to Toro. Then those dumb fu*** betrayed Guero Jessi, who was another old school comandante with influence that was backing Panilo. They luered him in by say they wanted to stop the war and negotiate and talk instead but it was b.s. Like the cowards that Pelochas was, and from the looks of it Betillo, they betrayed Guero Jessi and had set up a trap to kill him. Guero Jessi was always there standing his ground and in the think of it. He earned his. Not only did he show he had balls, but had a good head on his shoulders and a good heart. He was a man with respect. Never got big headed, humble. Unlike coward ass pelochas who I can't believe had people backing him. Who ran away from the wars. Who cried in court talking about how sorry he is (he's sorry alright). And betillo who hadn't been nowhere or done much had people backing him too. If those pieces of sh*** would not been so thirsty, grimy and egotistical things would be better off. Regular society wouldn't be enduring the cobro de piso, extortions and kidnappings that they have. Primito would have never gotten to be the guy in Reyno and CJNG wouldn't have one foot in Tamaulipas. Alot of the old schoolers that have passed would still be alive, Choco being one of them. CDG wouldn't be as splintered and there would be way less fighting amoung them, if any at all. All that would be better for regular society. As my man 1:13 said, greed and stupidity. Greed and ego on behalf of pelochas and betillo. And stupidity on behalf of pelochas and betillo and everyone that followed and backed them.

      Delete
    5. 12:24 Totally agree with you. Pelochas is a coward. I couldn't believe he actually had people backing him, let alone for the top spot. If they follow an individual like that, then there's alot of idiots in reyno that are CDG. And Betillo trying to be top dog, if when his cousin Toro was alive and running things he wasn't part of command, that your own blood doesn't put you in the command structure, that is saying something. He didn't have what it takes in his own bloods eyes to even comand a hit squad (as far as I'm aware atleast), let alone run the whole cartel. To bad they didn't smoke that fool soon after the disagreements began, before Panilo got arrested or Guero Jesi got killed. Pelochas is a coward, he would have disappeared. As it was he was in hiding already when he got locked up, as always, running away from the wars.

But there was La Kena giving those fools a chance to make things right. Trying to avoid the confrontation with his own. Trying to talk sense into them.

This was one cell of zetas jn michoafan the zetas were spread out all over Mexico z3 z40 and Cardenas thought it would be wiser just to withdraw from there cell from michoacan trhey have much more valuable borders and states. They could have sent there full force in if they wanted it wasent like famalia wiped out alll of zetas and cdg

    11. Michoac√°n is all hype huh? They don’t call it the heart and soul of Mexico for nothing. Also, what makes you think Mencho is the leader of Michoac√°nos? There’s plenty of low key narcos from Michoac√°n. Lastly, what does a dry ass state like Tamaulipas have to offer to the rest of the world? CDG don’t stand a chance they’re too busy fighting for scraps. Michoac√°nos all over Tamps 422 and 438 just told you what’s up!

The stench of burning flesh and rotting corpses tends to distract a person from appreciating the surrounding natural wonders. In my world evil death dealing human filth are not referred to as bad apples. Maybe you should do something to make Mexico a better place instead of excusing and minimizing the human garbage that surrounds you.

    25. California is tougher the gangs in California are very racial especially when you get locked up the Mexicans are deep! The weather in California is also way better along with things to do and explore from desert, mountains, beach, etc
Even the rapper 2pac let it be known about California in his Hit em up diss track.
The bad thing about Cali is it’s liberal state homeless and crime gone up along with the cost of living

    26. @2.17. So you have been all over Mexico, and smelt burning flesh and rotting corpses? Bullshit, old timer. You write like a US citizen who has been to tourist sites (cos Mexicos ''heart and soul'' is a beautiful beach) and now reads too many articles about how that lovely place you once knew, filled with kind and generous and hard working little brown people serving you cocktails, has been destroyed by shit that was happening when you were there, when you didn't know or care. Now its hell and handcarts and Aztecs.

    27. 2:44 Come back to reality and do some research. CDG was pretty much running Michoacan. He pulled out most of his people (Osiel) and left a few Zetas behind. The Zetas had did some BS to some innocent people on a few occasions and what ended up being FM wasn't feeling it. That amoungst other things is what help form FM. That's why at first they were real protective of Michoacan and it's people. But power corrupts and they went from protectors to abusers. Not el Chango mendez and his people, but most of the rest. For whatever reason CDG had pretty much pulled out of Michoacan and it had nothing to do with getting kicked out. The zetas FM conflict hadn't even happened yet when Osiel was pulling out. And he never tried to go into Michoacan no more. Do your research. And there might be some michoacanos here and there in Tamaulipas, but they are not running anything there. And more important, why are you all bent out of shape about it? Why get into all that??? At the end of the day it's mexicans against mexicans, which is nonsense. It's one thing to be proud of your state, but it shouldn't come at a cost of trying to belittle another mexican state. That's ignorant and small minded and countrrproductive.

  14. Good article about this on Insight Crime. Asking if CJNG are pushing the old Gulf factions from the state after this confrontation, with anonymous insights from various sources. They backtrack though, with the question ''Are CJNG pushing CDG from Tamaulipas?'' being answered with ''possibly'', then ''it's more complicated than that'', then ''err...probably not''. Still, it's interesting.

    1. Jalisco is aparently in places controlled by the metros and they come in from other states thru the south and west. To attack then they leave the state. The last shootout reported a few days ago in a place called mendes or jimenez and there were escorpiones bodys and a few trucks left. So may be the zve and metros got the best of them but one cant be sure. There are also shootouts in reynosa for some reason and the jalisco cartel is also trying to enter nuevo laredo and take it from cdn.I dont believe jalisco cartel have made any signicant gains or outright took any plazas in tamaulipas yet. But there have beem trucks with their letters left behind after shootouts so theyre coming in for sure.

  16. If you look at it in the way its portrayed pure evil and that what comes with it and because they are doing wicked things there just gonna keep killing eachother and eventually they too will endure the same unless they depart from evil this is nothing compared to what hell is that’s the scary thing
