Villa de Cos, Zacatecas: Police Kill 3 Alleged Hitmen

Following a confrontation, four firearms and a vehicle with a theft report were seized, it was reported.

State Preventive Police officers clashed with armed civilians last night in the municipality of Villa de Cos, resulting in the death of three alleged criminals.

There were no casualties or injuries on the side of the uniformed officers, the State Peace Building Committee (MECP) reported. 

While out on patrol, the State Police were attacked with gunfire, and after repelling the attackers, three of them were killed.

In addition, four firearms and a vehicle with a theft report were seized.

When the aggression was reported, federal and municipal security forces mobilized in support of the state elements.

The situation is now under control in this area of Zacatecas territory, it was indicated.
