"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat
The Secretary of Public Security of Michoacán, in coordination with the Municipal Police of Zamora, arrested an important criminal target that operated in said municipality.
The SSP reported that during a tour of the Los Laureles neighborhood, as part of the Blindaje Zamora operation, the officers located a Chevrolet vehicle, in which two men were circulating, who were carrying a .45-millimeter caliber handgun and a .223 caliber rifle, in addition to 40 rounds, 24 wrappers with methamphetamine and two explosive devices.
Upon verifying the background of those involved, it was confirmed that one of them is an alleged criminal target who has several arrest warrants against him.
This is Juan C., alias "El Hulk", identified by authorities as the operational head of "Los Caballeros Templarios" in the municipality of Zamora, who was in charge of coordinating the sale of drugs and ordering homicides.
Intelligence areas indicated that "El Hulk" is also related to an armed attack against the Civil Guard, perpetrated on August 29 in the Cerrito de La Cruz neighborhood, in Jacona, in which an alleged hit man was killed.
The second detainee was identified as Jorge C., "El Gordo", one of the closest collaborators of Juan C.
The detainees were brought before the competent authorities.
