Ten alleged members of Los Chapitos, a cell of the Sinaloa Cartel, yesterday entered the Diamond Module, a maximum security area of ​​the Santa Martha Acatitla prison, in the Iztapalapa district, where leaders of organized crime groups are currently imprisoned.

Lenin Jonathan Canchola Martinez, leader of Los Malcriados 3AD is currently imprisoned in this prison facility, arrested on July 1 in Monterrey Nuevo León. He has been designated as the main criminal leader in the western area of ​​Mexico City.

Abigail Gonzalez Valencia, El Cuini, number two of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, who was admitted to said prison in May of last year, is also being held in this area of ​​the Santa Martha Acatitla Men's Center for Social Reintegration.

El Cuini is the brother-in-law of the absolute leader of the CJNG, Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, El Mencho, was captured on March 28, 2015, in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, during an operation carried out by federal forces, where there were also three South Americans and a Mexican.

The alleged members of Los Chapitos left the facilities of the Anti-Kidnapping Prosecutor's Office around 3:10 p.m. aboard armored trucks, which were heavily guarded by agents from the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) and the Investigative Police (PDI). ).

Prior to the transfer, dozens of vehicles and uniformed personnel from both capital dependencies arrived at the complex, who accompanied the transfer of approximately 27 kilometers to the east of the capital.

The heavily guarded convoy arrived at approximately 4:15 p.m. at the prison gates, for a transfer that lasted just over an hour.

Upon arrival at the penitentiary center in Iztapalapa, the 10 individuals were brought before a control judge for their alleged responsibility in crimes against health, attempted murder, carrying weapons for the exclusive use of the Armed Forces, kidnapping, and organized crime.

The other four people who had been detained were released, after the Public Ministry of the capital prosecutor's office determined that there was no evidence to link them to the events of the shooting recorded last Tuesday in the Topilejo area.

On Tuesday, 14 people were arrested after elements from the intelligence area of ​​the Secretariat for Citizen Security (SSC) arrived at a safe house they had in the Topilejo area, where they had been operating for more than two months, and attacked the agents with gunfire. 

As a result of the operation, 10 long weapons were also seized, including a Barrett .50 caliber rifle and a machine gun, 12 grenades, more than 70 magazines, rounds, ballistic vests, drugs and three short weapons.
