37 CJNG Sicarios Arrested in Michoacán

"Socalj" for Borderland Beat

Army agents led the operation to arrest 37 alleged members of a criminal cell linked to the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel (CJNG).

According to the report of the Secretary of National Defense (Sedena), the interventions were carried out in the Caracol community of the Ciudad Hidalgo municipality, where a group of men armed with 35 high-powered rifles was located.

Other sources with knowledge of the case indicated that they are members of the CJNG since they dispute that area with the Correa Cartel and extensions of the Michoacán Family, who extend from the State of Mexico and the limits of Guerrero.

35 rifles along with a grenade launcher, tactical vests, and ammunition were seized from the group.

The Sedena specified that in addition to the 37 subjects and the long weapons of different calibers, a grenade launcher attachment, more than 150 magazines, thousands of useful cartridges, tactical vests, and a vehicle were seized. Everything secured was made available to the Attorney General's Office and the Civil Guard supported the transfer of the detainees. Agents from the National Guard also participated in the deployment, as well as the Michoacán Prosecutor's Office.

"The presence of military personnel will continue, in order to dissuade behaviors that put society at risk, as well as act promptly and expeditiously, to guarantee the peace of Mexicans," Sedena warned in its statement about the arrests in public safety work.

In the shared images it is observed that the operation was carried out in the vicinity of a wooded area, near an apparent safe house on a hill next to the plain. The alleged CJNG operators were lying face down with their hands handcuffed and semi-naked.

The machine guns were gathered on the blankets and bedspreads, as well as the ammunition that has not been accounted for. No confrontations or patrolling work were reported, so an intelligence action to intercept the point is presumed.

Among the weapons seized, it was possible to identify those for assault such as AR-15, as well as those from Russia of the AK-47 type. The grenade launcher is .40 caliber and it is presumed that the ammunition exceeds a thousand.

The Caracol community is located in a mountainous region on the border of Michoacán. There the people are dedicated to livestock, agriculture, and forestry. The town is just over an hour from the Biosphere Reserve at the Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary.

However, in recent years that area has experienced battles by the CJNG, who want to displace regional leaders of the Correa brothers, as well as remnants of the Familia Michoacana. The east of the entity joins other regions that are disputed by drug cartels, whose disputes have generated the majority of the 1,600 murders with firearms that have been perpetrated so far this year.

  5. People are easily fool by the videos CJNG does but honest true is most SICARIOS are your average JOE recruited forcibly by mencho so when it comes down to a battle they rather surrender than fight

  6. It's only a matter of time until SEDENA's soldiers are back in their barracks and the people of Michoacan are living in peace.

  7. Mark my words, Michoacán will be the end of el mencho. His narcissistic, egotistical mind cannot let his home state go. Bigger picture, no one has fought for Michoacán this hard. If anything all his effort should go towards Lazaro Cardenas port. And that’s it.

    2. 10:56 so you are saying that a local cartel is gonna last longer than a internacional one? Look here man from what ive seen the only reason CU still have michoacan is because of their government conections, other wise cjng would of already have taking over Mich, but conections some times are really fragile when you are a local cartel, all it takes is one wrong move and cjng will take over, on the other hand cjng is so big that they can afford to fuck up over and over cause their pockets are so deep, only time will tell, but knowing the cartels that work with CU it wont take long before they start fighting each other, it already been proven with FM and CT and no CU

    3. Let me be more specific.(long read I know. Outside of him wanting to control the area where he was born (Tierra Caliente) to satisfy his own pride and have the last laugh after almost being killed there by his former bosses, what are the benefits to controlling Said area of Michoacán? He already controls a big chunk of the border between Jalisco and Michoacán, and controls a lot of other territory outside of TC. He has more than enough territory in Michoacán for local drug sales. He may want to set up methlabs in TC, But Jalisco has the perfect real estate to do that there. Theres only a few things that I can think of that would make sense. Does he want one of CU biggest cash cow in TC which is extorting big businesses(mining, lumber, avocado, lemons etc) does he want these business for money laundering purposes? None of these make sense Because one, he doesn’t extort, which I ANECDOTALLY. Verified. I have family in Michoacán that said CJNG does not extort their businesses. as far as money laundering goes, from what I understand, the cuini faction has several systems to clean his money. Does he want it for logistical purposes? Not sure how much more that would benefit him. Jalisco is closer to tecate, which cjng apparently control 80 percent off ( learned that today from Hearst article) He controls coastal areas in both jalisco and Michoacán. So even without Michoacán, he has Jalisco to bring his product in. Maybe I’m missing something, but to me it would only benefit him to leave TC alone and take some heat off CJNG

    4. @11:28 I'm not 6:42 but my thinking is that as an Old School Narcotraficante RNOC doesn't view these lacras that victimize the civilian population as groups that should be in control of Michoacán. He has been in the business since the early 80s so he knows the MO of the narcos viejos. Also take into account that he sponsored part of the AutoDefensa movement and those are some of the individuals who have betrayed or stolen from him. That war will not stop since some of his people have been killed and he just won't forget them and the fight they died for. Va ser hasta la muerte de ellos y los que los apoyen

    5. 11:28 TC has always been the wild wild west, only a capo the size of mencho can kind of control it but, the only thing holding CU together is the common enemy (cjng) but CU will start fighting each other, trust my words, those guys can never be at peace, they always need to be fighting someone, and Mencho was trying to change that, but what can i say, it would be kind of weird for them to just chill

      Delete
    6. @201 you bring up a good point about the auto defensa investment. Thanks for reading

    7. @803. I agree that the CU groups will eventually start fighting again. So wouldn’t it make sense for him to back off, let CU start fighting again, have the main CU leadership captured, then make a full mobilization into TC? He takes heat off himself and lets them beat themselves up. Win win IMO. Anyone have updates on el gallito. I’ve been told that some guys like him from back then who were secondary leadership of the CT, FM etc are kind of lurking in the background, betting on a similar strategy, to strike when the time is right. Any truth to this?

  9. More proof the Governor and military supports CU. Now if they will also arrest CU then my homies there have a chance to live freely without CU extorting them.

    3. @4:28 Can't really believe what all Sargy says. Someone on Twitter called him out on his previous arrest in Oklahoma for beating a woman. They even provided a link to that arrest with a picture. And then there was that time he tried to intimidate a reporter here with a cowardly threat. I had a talk with him through a dummy account. He then tried to punk me by showing me a picture of a cap with the FBI insignia, he claimed these guys were his friends. Lol. Apparently this is a weak tactic of his to scare anyone that opposes him. Eventually he blocked me once he saw that I wouldn't fall for his weak ass moves. Typical midget bravado. But like I said before it was just a dummy account that served its own purpose. I can still go through other accounts to see and take what I want whenever I want from him.
