Zacatecas, Zac. Eighteen people
were found dead during the last 24 hours, in different events that the
authorities related to settling accounts between rival groups of organized
crime in Zacatecas, particularly the violent struggle between members of the Sinaloa
Cartel against members of the Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generación.
The finding of two clandestine fosas,
the first of them, next to a cornfield of the ranch called La Espía, in the
municipality of Calera de Víctor Rosales, 25 kilometers north of the capital of
Zacatecas, where personnel from the State Attorney General's Office recovered
12 bodies.
On the other hand, in a rural
area of Cerro de la Cruz, belonging to the El Carnero community, in the
municipality of Nieves, investigating state police located a grave where the bodies
of four men were half-buried - at the foot of some yuccas -. Staff of the
Zacatecan Institute of Forensic Sciences, went to carry out the respective
expert work and lift the bodies.
Likewise, in other events, in
the community of Malpaso, municipality of Villanueva, the body of a man was
found, executed with firearm shots, behind the pantheon of the place.
Meanwhile in the San Carlos
neighborhood of the city of Fresnillo, another unidentified young man was shot
to death.
Finally, sources from the Zacatecas
Public Security Secretariat announced that unidentified subjects shot the Villa
González Ortega Municipal Police headquarters, although no agent was injured or
killed.
