With 990 Homocides, 2013 Was The Most Violent Year in Michoacan In The Last 15 Years.

Translated by DD with a little help from Google.

Mexico City, December 3 (HOWEVER) -. The year  2013 was the most violent year since 1998 in  Michoacan, for a total of 990 homicides, December being the month with the highest number of murders.

According to an investigation by the agency Quadratín, the combination of social crisis, violence and insecurity left last year as one of the most aggressive, however, it did not surpass the mark registered in 1998, with 1,200 homicides.

This report highlighted the fact that 55 percent of the killings were summary executions, 'which suggests that in the entity operated specialized extrajudicial executions,  victims selectively targeted in the style of the old death squad groups' says the michoacana agency.

According to figures provided by the Technical Secretariat of the National Public Security System in the year just ended saw an increase of 31.13 percent in this type of crime, over 2012, when 755 violent deaths, 235 less than 2013.

Most of the deaths occurred by executions and-despite the military presence in the state, only 12 people died in armed clashes. But there was not only increased number of crimes, but also in the regions in which they happen. It spread to 36 of the 113 municipalities in the state, with Morelia, Apatzingán Tarímbaro, Uruapan and Zamora where the murders were most (57%) concentrated.

The state capital as well as the population of Tarímbaro had 33 percent of those killed, becoming the most dangerous area of the state.  In 77 of the municipalities no murder occurred.
Impunity in research is also an issue raised in the report, as only 76 of the 128 dead were identified in December, while the rest remain as unknown

The features of the deceased victims in that month show their ages ranging from 31 to 49,  while their occupations are diverse, most are from city officials, police and military to housewives and children.

Of all the deaths in December, only nine women murdered

  1. Could you please not lead with a photo like that? I find it very disturbing. One of the admins said these kinds of images would be on the "read more" page with a graphic warning. Thank you. It makes me want to have nothing to do with the article cus I have to look at the image AND it makes not want to read the BB page because I will always be seeing that image.... and it is horrifying. No one should have to look at that.

  8. Readers, please accept my apology for the original gory photo that was posted with this story. It was my fault for posting it. I had pulled up 2 photos for the story and planned on putting the famous photo of the decapitations that were thrown on the floor of a bar in Mich. in 2010 on the second page of the story. The story turned out to be so short, there was no need for a second page and i got busy helping Chivis do some research on the Dr. Mireles story, got in a hurry and just clicked on the wrong picture to lead off with on this story.
Again, my apologies if I offended you. I intended to follow our unwritten policy of posting a caution before the page break that there is graphic material that might offend some readers on the second page.

  10. I was the admin who said I would place vids and certain graphic fotos such as decaps on second page. Each reporter can decide for themselves. Please don't hold other reporters to my decision.

To me decaps are no more offensive than a foto of teen aged sisters hanging from a bridge.

  16. January 5, 2014 at 9:34 PM Hello DD , Are there not photos all over the internet and in libraries and history books of the atrocities of the Nazi's ?
The reason for showing the "gore" is educational so we will not forget such atrocities and mankind do its best to prevent them from ever happening
again. Like I said no one has a problem with looking at Nazi WWII atrocities on 10000's of Websites . Why hide Mexico. Some of these people that complain might have big money to gain or lose gambling on tourism and want ALL negative press involving Mexico out of the media. That's one of the biggest problems that plague this war in Mexico. Or as they say in Mexico " Security Situation"

    Peace.

  21. Mexico has became Satan's playground. The areas change geographically . But the horror remains the same . There are some sick
fucks roaming around Mexico. Still believe its some kind of demented
Devil worship and icons like Santa Muerte. BB has done some articles on this subject and these pratices part of the Narco Criminal culture. So now its also a religious war good against the forces of evil.

One has to remember this kind of crimes used to not occur. Throughout Mexico ,sure their were domestic disputes , drunken fights and arguments of over a rooster or woman etc. However, the scale , quality, type , and horror & sheer number of the crimes are new to a once peaceful region/country.
And in six months it could move into Puebla or Chiapas Who knows ?
Educate yourself , tell your friends , show them the videos and footage tell them about BB . Exposure to the world can bring in the guys wearing little blue helmets. And bring change to Mexico like the former Yugoslavia.
