Sinaloa: "Chapo bills" of 200 pesos circulate in Culiacán and are valid

Chivis Martinez Borderland Beat  RioDoce  Thank you Steve C

Joaquín Guzmán Loera, el Chapo, is imprisoned in a maximum security prison in the United States, serving a life sentence, meanwhile in Culiacán currency is circulating  with his initials.

"FROM YOUR FRIEND JGL" reads on the back of a 200-peso bill that was issued last Sunday, September 27, at an ATM located in front of Soriana (market)Zapata, in this city.

The message ink is red and indelible.

These bills are the most recent design issued by the Bank of Mexico in September 2019, that is, two months after the former leader of the Sinaloa Cartel was sentenced to life imprisonment plus 30 years for the crimes of leading a continuous criminal enterprise, conspiring to commit murder and smuggling marijuana, cocaine, methamphetamine, and heroin into the United States.

The seal of the initials that coincide with the name of Joaquín Guzmán Loera were placed on the green bill, on a golden eagle and the sahuaro, in addition to the El Pinacate and Gran Desierto de Altar Biosphere Reserve, located in Sonora and declared a UNESCO world heritage site.

On the opposite side is printed the images of Miguel Hidalgo and José María Morelos, figures of Independence.

Except for the stamp with the initials of Chapo , the bill does not present any damage, so according to personnel from the Banamex bank and Oxxo stores consulted, it is valid and can be used for any purchase or payment.

After Guzmán Loera was captured and extradited to the US, his children along with Ismael el Mayo Zambada were left in charge of the Sinaloa Cartel.

I never said the money is not real only that it's not official from the banks *with* the stamp. Rubber stamping 200 pesos is pretty corriente.

    4. at 8:27, he never said it was fake, he just said that the stamp is not officially by the bank.

The bill is real, somebody (not the bank) decided to stamp it with the initials. you can grab a dollar bill.here in the USA write someting or stamp something and still use it. same shit.
