AMLO sends to Guanajuato 5 thousand Guardia Nacional troops after rebound of violence

The National Guard elements deployed to Guanajuato, will be supported by the Secretariats of National Defense (Sedena) and Navy.

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador announced from the National Palace that more elements of the National Guard will be sent to Guanajuato, after the entity reported the highest rates of violence and homicides in the country.

According to the president, Guanajuato is a priority, so the entity will be reinforced with a deployment of five thousand elements of the National Guard, who will be supported by the Ministry of National Defense and Marine.

"We will inform you soon about the results of this action to address the serious problem of violence in Guanajuato," the president said.

During the morning conference at the National Palace, he explained that crime and violence are concentrated in certain states and cities of the country, and mentioned that 10 entities did not register any homicide on Thursday, January 31.

"We will have more elements in Guanajuato, because yesterday (it had) 18 percent, only Guanajuato, 12 Chihuahua, Veracruz, these three (states) 39 percent," said the federal president.

He added that the last week was not good because there were problems in seven states where 57 percent of the criminal acts were concentrated, of which 20 percent corresponded to Guanajuato.

The rest of the entities were Chihuahua, Jalisco, State of Mexico, Mexico City, Baja California and Michoacán. In that same period, in six states there was no homicide.

  3. I know nothing about Mexican politics but Im genuinely beginning to HATE this guy. He's so incredibly detached from reality. He probably doesnt even realize that hes just a tool of CJNG. He's too busy reciting poetry in the mirror.

  10. Yet he doesn't dare send any troop to Culiacan. Wonder how much he has been paid by CDS. We see the flagrancy here every day.

  11. CJNG crew will fall back to Guadalajara or Leon and operate in shadow, and wait till the GN will clear Guanajuato from CSRL, as El Marro has no way to fall back

  12. Either if Marro will escape from Guanajuato till the situation will calm down

  14. Additional troops will only intensify other states of interest. More recruits are needed to make any significant impact for their country.
Nevertheless, he is the president. And what he says goes in the end.

  15. I used to think this president was going to make a change for MEXICANS but he turned out to be an idiot with NO plan to make Mexico better. Just on other CROOK to add to the LONG list

  16. President says "last week was not a good week". Oh yeah Mickey Mouse, when was there a good week in your Disneyland? Murder all these scum and do it now, no trials, just kill them all before they kill whatever we have left here. Human rights are non-existent here anyway, the cartels have seen to that, so tell that to the bleeding hearts when they see the slaughter of innocent children today on the world news. Revolution now!
