Narcos Try Taking Advantage of Their Infamy

Video translation is as follows:

Issa Osorio: Sculptures, candles, bracelets, caps, shirts, ornaments, and even amulets. This is the business of narco culture in Mexico.

Male Vendor: Many people identify themselves or let themselves be guided by these characters.

Issa Osorio: The business of making the names of the narcos a brand begins with the same leaders of the cartels. For a few years, Rafael Caro Quintero, Joaquín El Chapo Guzmán, Ernesto Fonseca Carrillo, and even the so-called boss of bosses Miguel Ángel Feliz Gallardo have sought to register their names, nicknames, faces, and even signatures as trademarks before the Instituto Mexicano de la Propiedad Industrial (IMPI).

Enrique Ortega: Unintentionally, you are glorifying them.

Issa Osorior: For this expert it’s considered reverence that many drug traffickers have a name and surname in spite of being responsible for the violence that has plagued Mexico for several years.

Enrique Ortega: They are public figures. So, naturally the next step is why not register our trademark if artists, producers, and singers, are able to register their names?

Issa Osorio: In 2011 a daughter of El Chapo Guzmán and in 2014 Emma Coronel, wife of the capo, tried to register the brand of Guzmán Loera. None succeeded. Despite this, Chapo 701 is a clothing brand marketed by Alejandrina Guzmán.

701 is the number with which Joaquin El Chapo Guzmán appeared in Forbes magazine as one of the richest men in the world. And since then that number appears on various objects like these. So far no drug lord has managed to register his own brand.

  3. 50 cent and many other self admitted drug traffickers have rights to their names, nicknames and several aliases like Jello, EMINEM (M&M) and P Didit...after denying HE DID IT, a gun incident where Jello confessed and gave his ass up to poolice...
Even Oliver North the drug trafficker who lorded it over the so called "mexican capos" when he was NSA has rights, is a "journalist" and heads the NRA if only for a while...
But a mexican? No way josé

    1. Rap/hip hop is 🗑 trash also glorifies this mess. Black culture in particular they love it because they’re to lazy to work and rather have it easy. Most of the people who smoke weed daily bump corridos and or rap shit along with talking and acting ghetto is pure shit mentality. I know people who can listen to whatever or even smoke but don’t be acting retarded or imitate what they see or listen to. Most of the world is sheep and idiots!

  6. Who in their right mind would celebrate, endorse, advertise and give money to ANY of these people who put their own wants and desires above human life? The notoriety gained by Escobar, Chapo, RCQ or any narco is in direct proportion to the destruction and death they have bestowed upon others. When I see people repping these psychopaths I feel like smacking them upside the head. Anyone who has even caught a glimpse of real life drug dealing knows the boundless greed and predatory behaviour of high level dealers. For those of you who support this, give your fucking head a shake.

    1. Look around you. Ignorance exists everywhere. Why should this not surprise anyone here.
One's ignorant behavior have contributed to what they have become. Moreover, what many communities have embraced.
