The Ovidio Guzmán Failed Capture Video Analysis

"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat

The criminals managed to dismantle the entire operation. Who failed? Who did not conduct the intelligence work? 145 elements of the federal forces were neutralized by 315 criminals

Video translation is as follows:

Reporter: 145 elements of the federal forces were neutralized by 315 criminals on October 17 in Culiacán, Sinaloa. This is the map of the operation presented by the Secretary of National Defense. Here the target is located. The house of Ovidio Guzmán lies on the Calle José Muro Pico of the Tres Ríos subdivision in the city of Culiacán. According to the design of the operation that was carried out by the Mexican Army Unit Information Analysis Group for Drug Trafficking.

This address was supposed to have been guarded by 2 perimeters. The first is an internal security circle composed of 46 soldiers and members from the National Guard. And the second an external circle in which 99 federal agents participated. The operation broke down when organized criminal cells broke the security design. They mobilized heavy caliber weapons in trucks and vans. They removed public transport riders and blocked the avenues with buses. And they prevented and attacked the military’s movements.

Team A was the first to be attacked. 3 soldiers were injured, 1 lost his leg. Team 3 moved to point A after not reaching their position. Team B managed to reach its position. But not Team D that had to cover the bridge over the Humaya River. Nor Team C that was supposed to position itself on one side of the Sinaloa stadium. 6 attacks against federal forces occurred that day in Culiacán. One of these was recorded after 4 in the afternoon at the intersections of Universitarios Avenue and Enrique Sánchez Alonso Avenue.

As seen here in this unpublished video sent to Imagen Noticias. Here 40 criminals with automatic weaponry, including Barrett rifles  attacked 4 National Guard vehicles. This was one of the toughest clashes of that afternoon. A soldier died there and 9 more elements were injured. The criminals used tactics so advanced such as the sniper utilized lying on a rising street. From there he had perfect visibility of all the soldiers. With the outside security circle broken the reinforcements could not arrive. And the exit to the Culiacán airport 12 kilometers from Ovidio Guzmán’s house was impossible to achieve. The operation was compromised.

Ciro Gómez Leyva: 6 attacks on federal forces only in Culiacán. Who failed in the operation? Was it the Secretary of National Defense, was it the National Guard? Who did or didn’t do their intelligence work well?

  1. So that sniper killed the soldier and injured 9?

    1. It’s possible the effective sniper inflicted those casualties, including the one that resulted in the loss of a soldiers leg.

The .50 caliber round can easily pierce the shitty army trucks that were used, and expose soldiers to enemy rounds.

AMLO. Why are you surrounded by inept Military planners, who failed In many ways, and lacked foresight to use APC’s for this capture and extraction?

    2. Sniper was part of the heaviest firefight of the evening. During that specific clash one sedena soldier lost his life and nine were injured. I doubt sniper caused all that, many had automatic weapons as well as the now infamous FN Herstal minimi 7.6

What qualifies you as a military planner since you have so much to say.

    4. Funny how the US is on the other side of the world, tracking down and killing Bagdadi who was hiding in a compound guarded by Isis fighters with bomb vests, and they eliminate him in minutes, without so much as a scratch on a US soldier, but Mexico can't handle a narco in their own back yard. Maybe AMLO should consult with the US a bit more on tactics....like maybe use choppers instead of trucks.. Lmao...

    5. What I would say is that the US needs to go in and help their neighbor. Especially if they want the guy.

  4. "The criminals used tactics so advanced "..... I reread that sentenced about 10 times while grinning . You ain't got to like them or root for them (like I do) but you damn well better respect them and the power they maintain. That counterattack was the type of an unbelievable thing to happen in Mexico that definitely makes Quentin Tarantino want to get possible movie rights in order to make the baddest movie yet. He's already got "Once upon a time in Mexico. I think he'd do alright calling that future movie Every Fucking Day in Mexico "😉

  5. Animo Sicarios

RIP Sicario 005. (shooting the sniper 50 Cal Barrett.on the second picture)
He had 335 confirmed kills in the different CDS wars .He was trained by the Mossad. He will be posthumously awarded the purple heart by El Señor Ivan .

    1. Sniper? The sicarios in that 2nd photo may be using a .50 cal Barrett but he’s no sniper. Any good sniper isn’t going to be setup on a street like that. They are going to be strategically positioned with solid cover. They are also going to use a spotter. That isn’t a sniper. It’s just some narco with a rifle that doesn’t really know what he’s doing. He obviously didn’t learn much from the Mossad. If that’s the best CDS has they better hope they never face a real military. The Mexican military doesn’t count because they are obviously a joke.

  7. It’s clear that some Criminal organizations in Mexico, such as CDS, are smarter and have plans in place to thwart attacks.

The educated military strategists and Police in Mexico are a joke.

    2. These criminals had to kidnap and threatened with death the innocent family members of military personnel, wtf do you expect AMLO to do? Bet those POS would cry like bitches if the government did the same with their families. If the government isn't corrupted these criminals will be captured sooner rather than later.

      Delete
    3. @:127 see what you don't understand is the military/government has treated these people like this for decades why do you think they the cartel doesn't care about what the government thinks

    4. The cartel did to the gov exactly what they do to the people. Hit them at their weakest point the family. It’s hilarious that all these self righteous gov nut huggers are so offended when they get a taste of their own medicine

      Delete
    5. @1:27 am

Military planners have to foresee and plan every possible scenario and surprise you idiot!

      Why were the families unprotected?
Why were the families so close to a military operation in a potential hostile or enemy zone?
Why the fuck were the families even there?
Why is the Head of the Military releasing the name of the Colonel in charge of the failed operation?!

Why should I applaud AMLO for giving in when the whole thing was a train wreck from the start?

The kidnaping of families, blockades, snipers, and overall execution of a plan, on the part of CDS, showed brilliance.

AMLO should consider hiring the strategic advisors on the Cartel payroll, because his advisors are a bunch of fools.

    6. 10:33, 10:38 like I already said, CDS would cry like bitches if the government arrested and tortured their family members to extract information on the whereabouts of the criminals they are looking for. You will not dispute that unless you're a CDS scrotum sucker.

The families taken hostage were of the troops stationed in Culiacán or Sinaloa, not of the team that captured the very bright, charismatic and handsome Ovidio! No mames! Easy enough to answer.
Okay CDS was playing chess and the government checkers, oops! So much for the veneer of not harming innocents CDS and their flunkies like to proclaim, son igual y hasta peor de mierdas que otras mafias.

      Delete
    8. @2:38. Thank you for your in-depth analysis and wealth of knowledge 😂

You helped prove my point. CDS went for the soft targets of Military family members which don’t necessarily have to be those involved in the operation.

The fact the Military leadership identified those involved in the execution of a flawed plan, put a Target on the back of those people, including their loved ones.

As I have mentioned before. Military planners are supposed to plan for various scenarios and changes as the operation unfolds, including spies and leaks.

It’s evident by the catastrophic failure, that the planners are inept.

    9. 9:28 Queso you're a master of whataboutism. I counter and answer your points y sales con otra jalada, ni pedo. So it seems like CDS outmaneuvered the government, chess to checkers, but I'm not convinced.
