Mexican President calls the sentence of El Chapo "inhumane"

Chivis Martinez Borderland Beat from Reforma

“.....a person is to be in prison  for life, in a hostile prison, it is harsh, and inhumane." [AMLO]

President López Obrador was upset by the sentence of life imprisonment handed down to Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán and the conditions of the prison in which he will possibly remain.

"I am very sorry that these cases occur, I do not want anyone to be in jail, that no one be in a hospital, that no one suffer (...) I hope this does not happen anymore, that all Mexicans have the possibility    of being happy, without incurring in illicit acts, without exposing ourselves, without living with the risks that are run when acting outside the law, "he said.

"It is also a tragic  life to have a family and not be able to see it, maybe this is not life, and when all those things that happen end in sentences, like this, a sentence that a person is to be in prison  for life, in a hostile prison, it is harsh, inhumane."

However, the president kept in mind the victims of organized crime.

"I also have many victims in my head,  it is very painful, we will continue to build a better, more humane, more fraternal, more supportive society, of course peaceful, non-violent, supported by values, supported by all in values, not in the accumulation of material goods, "he said.

He insisted that whoever opts for crime provokes the suffering of their families.

"I am constantly communicating with mothers who have imprisoned children and it is very painful because the mother will always be on the side of the children, even if the children do not behave well. [living morally]

o it is necessary that we all behave well to give mothers happiness, our families, that is very important, strengthening values, that is why we are going to continue insisting on not only improving the material situation, not only looking for material well-being, but the well-being of the soul, that's why we are distributing the moral booklet of Alfonso Reyes ", He said.

On Wednesday, the former leader of the Sinaloa Cartel, Joaquín Guzmán Loera, was sentenced in the United States to life imprisonment after being found guilty of drug trafficking.

Although the US authorities have not reported where he will be imprisoned, the capo is expected to spend the rest of his life in the federal prison ADX Florence, in Colorado, the most secure  in the country and the only one labeled "Supermax".

Inmates are usually confined for 23 hours a day in solitary cells measuring 3.5 by 2 meters, each with a window just over one meter high and 10 centimeters wide, angled upward so that he can only see the sky.

  4. Guess its humane for these criminals to kill, kidnap ect in one's country. Moreover, creating a crisis of epic proportions of disappearances for these families which he feels for.
Can't have it both ways AMLO. Either you make an example or simply hold their hands for condolences and support.
I believe he's butt hurt for not being able to assist Chapo.

  8. Maybe if criminals would pay a price, like the so called inhumane sentence for El Chapo, for trafficking and or corruption there would not be so much of it in Mexico.

  9. Chapo turned Ciudad Juarez into a living hell that still is a no go zone. He's caused so much pain and misery on both sides of the border that he no longer serves any useful purpose to society except to suck up oxygen. C'mon people. Get real. AMLO is either posturing or he's oblivious....or both.

  10. Dear ALMO it's also inhumane when Chapo had innocent people murdered. Also inhumane on the tons of coke, h had shipped to USA, it's also inhumane on the thousands getting killed in your country and not much is being done, to lower the high homicide rate.

    1. 10:35 I think it is inhumane to know WHO allows the killing of Mexican women and children and keep their name and the evidence from proving it.
That shit has been going on for more that fifty years, but grew increasingly bad in 12 years of FECAL PANISMO and EPN PRIISMO.
Under AMLO, the criminals are fighting like bitches for blood and land, like some failed SS Waffen, do not forget WHO paid for the war ON drugs over those 12 years, unless it hurts your propaganda of course... that is a the Mierda Initiative left behind, after the US spent 36 billion dollars on it to steal drug trafficking back where it belongs, US drug traffickers pockets and banks.

  17. Chapo was very much aware of the consequences but CHOSE to continue the life he led. How quickly AMLO forgot the many lives Chapo took and the suffering he caused to family members. We all have choices in life and if you chose to play with fire, then you suffer the consequences. Chapo is not remorseful of his actions and thought he could buy his way out. I only hope this brings some comfort to those family members who were killed by Chapo's cartel.

  21. If Mexican officials were not so corrupt and gutless, I would take AMLO's comments more seriously. As it is, I would tell AMLO "Do your job and attack corruption and perhaps you will reduce the 'suffering' you are complaining about."

  22. Sr. Presidents, that's why Mexico esta como esta. That's why the narcos own your country. Because of impunity. To arrest or even kill these criminals to you would be inhumane. Let Chapo or Mencho dismember one of your son's or one of your daughters and we'll see if you still think it's inhumane. Arriba Mexico right? Como Mexico no hay dos! Right? Eso que ni que! Que pena con esta "republica." Jaja pendejo.

Now, he is living with awareness of all of his deeds.Justice will never be pleasant for those who created suffering, no matter how rich they are, politician, clergy, drug lods, murderers, racists, slave traffikers, you name it, the higher they get in their deeds the painful justice will be applied, here in this life and for those who believe in any religion, in the after life.

    2. 4:21 Fidel Castro and Co. were much tougher on crime, the Cubans have been in power for more than 60 years, but you were not happy.
In Mexico the "tough on crime war ON drugs warriors" have murdered about 1 million mostly innocent Mexicans, and in Colombia did the same, just to steal the drug trafficking for their own partners who have always had it. All paid for by the US taxpayer and done behind their back on their credit card too...

    3. Have to admit foreign intrusion played a part of this crisis in Mexico. However, I do have to admit that Mexico could have put a stop to this if they cared about their country.

    4. 11:31 There is just no law and order in Mexico. None of this would fly in the US. The cartels are basically terrorist orginizations that are allowed to operate freely for the most part. It's a war torn country.. ISIS was destroyed for less and these cartels still exist? The Mexican government is complicit in this. And if someone rose up the ranks to run for President who truly would change things, he or she would surely be assasinated. Its going to take outside intervention to destroy the cartels. They need to be designated as terrorist orginizations and destroyed.

    5. ISIS was not destroyed. You can't kill an ideology. Like religion and their private wars. Despite its conflicting ideals.

As for the US! Many things fly unnoticed and quite noticeable from whistleblowers.

  35. Gracias Señor Presidente for boastfully speaking the truth on the lack of due process El Chapo has been receiving from a perverted US judicial system. However, don't worry El Chapo has the entire support of the powerful Big Homies that run the entire US penitentiary system. No foolish person will dare put his cowardly hands on him not because he is a living legend. Rather, the Big Homies won't allow such blasphemy. Their not dummies but rather witty business oriented Mafiosi that get their dope from Mexico.

  42. This is why Escobar chose to die, he knew what would await him. Chapo is butthurt and feels like a victim. It amazed me how some people were pro-Chapo but anti-Trump. Chapo has caused the death and suffering of tens of thousands, and now he cries injustice. The US gov doesn’t give a damn about the war on drugs because it gives them substantial money. No doubt the void left by Chapo will only cause even more pain and death. I get AMLOs ideology but when you express more concern for the perpetrators than the victims, something is seriously wrong.
