The Wives of Guerreros Unidos Take Control

Translated by Yaqui for Borderland Beat from: Universal

By: Dennis A. García Nov 4, 2017
The Guerreros Unidos organization, a splinter of the Beltrán Leyva cartel (BLO) , recently identified by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) as one of those that has extended its operations in the United States, is led by women, most of whom are wives of the Guerrero Unidos leaders who have been arrested.

An investigation opened by the Mexican Attorney General's Office (PGR) points to a new structure that includes women, including the wives of the brothers Casarrubias Salgado, founders of the criminal group, ministerial sources reported.

With a low profile since the arrests of those allegedly involved in the disappearance of the 43 normalistas of Ayotzinapa , which occurred in September 2014, some of the women took part in the control and decisions within the cartel, which distributes heroin in the United States. To the new conformation the wives of the heads of sicarios are also united . Within the structure, some of them act as controls but also as hawks (halcones).

The takeover of feminine power in the cartel has its beginnings with María de los Ángeles Moreno, wife of the former mayor of Iguala, José Luis Abarca, who, according to the statement of one detainee, Sidronio Casarrubias Salgado, "El Sapo", leader of Guerreros Unidos, was the principal financial operator and, together with her husband, they acted from the municipal presidential position.

After their capture, on April 30, 2014, in Toluca, Mario Casarrubias, "El Sapo" , founder of that criminal organization, his brother Sidronio exercised control of the organization that operates mainly in Guerrero, State of Mexico and Morelos.

Sidronio Casarrubias Salgadado, was arrested in the State of Mexico on October 17, 2014. Since that day, the person who assumed the leadership was his brother, Adán, "El Tomate", who maintains a dispute with the organization called "Los Rojos", both are splits of the brothers' cartel: Beltrán Leyva (BLO).

In relation to the hawks and the operative group, the former police director of Iguala, Felipe Flores Velázquez, and Francisco Salgado Valladares had an elite team within a corporation called "Los Bélicos", identified as violent and under the orders of José Luis Abarca.

In his statement for the Iguala case, Sidronio Casarrubias said that José Luis Abarca used money from the coffers of Iguala to pay the directors of the police and municipal presidents of Taxco, Cocula, Buena Vista de Cuéllar, Tepecoacuilco, Huitzuco and Teloloapan to contain the entrance of antagonistic groups that fought the square.

Among the women who are mentioned as those who probably assumed part of the control of Guerreros Unidos are those related to Sidronio Casarrubias Salgado, "El Chino", Mario Casarrubias Salgado, "El Sapo", Adán Zenen Casarrubias Salgado, "El Tomate", and José Ángel Casarrubias Salgado, "El Mochomo".

Felipe Flores Velázquez, former director of the Municipal Police of Iguala; Francisco Salgado Valladares, former deputy director of Iguala police; Israel Arroyo Mendoza, "El Spaghetti"; Víctor Hugo Benítez Palacios, "El Tilo", head of the plaza in Iguala; Brassieres Toribio Rentería, "El Chino", Pedro Bailón Díaz, Onofre Marquina Chapa and Felipe Rodríguez Salgado, "El Cepillo".

  5. Yaqui, that you on the first photo?
--Maria de los angeles and her husband did not disappear the 43, they could not even kill properly the 4 or 5 guys they had when they murdered the PRD guy and did an even crappier job of disappearing him and the other 2 or 3 victims. The mexican federal government did the 43 disappearances, their cell phones have been identified as still being used, in offices of the CISEN and the military golf camp in mexico city.

    1. You might be right about the disappearance of the 43 (44 or 45) might have been the work of the government and its millitary murderous forces...its been known for sometime that this millitary zone houses some of the most repressive armed forces in mexico...however i do believe that organized crime had something to do with it maybe in coalition with local authorities either state or municipal...its something so common in mexico in which people ask questions and everybody in the government stays quiet since they know it will die down and people will forget no matter what...acteal, aguas blancas, ayotsinapa ; crimenes de estado impunes y encubiertos por el Gobierno estatal, federal y los intereses del Sector privado

    2. Panza Verde, all narcos that could have been involved where military and police corporations (army, air force, marinasfederal, estatal, municipal, marinas, and bancaria) are in action, are not responsible for whatever happened, it is the highest ranking military officers responsibility, work your way down from there, but leave the women alone.

  9. What a shame!
The conception of a woman is; caring, wisdom and that feminine values which differentiates from males. That gentle touch to address and resolve matters.
These wives have truly disrespected that perception.
Wouldn’t call them women at all. Rather, identity issues. A conflict where the male identity
    is truly displayed by stupidity.
Would not feel bad if they were handed a beat down like a male.
If it walks like a chicken; it’s a chicken!

In other words; if they act like a dude, treat them as such.

    3. Maybe harsh but true.
      Women should behave like women.
Not like there male counterparts “ idiots “.

Women should always display some class and self respect.
      It’s only right!

  11. Just like anything else done on social media these days the pics of the pretty lil ladies are just a depictions of certain persona. Whether that persona is real or a fantasy is up to the reader. I believe its a male driven fantasy geared to get likes on Instagram etc. I find them quite amusing.

  12. A few years ago in Iguala, about 6 months or so after the 43 disappeared, there were local elections. All over town there was one candidates picture. A woman who appeared pretty and barely over 18. I saw no other candidates for the office. As things change, they stay the same.
