An armed commando belonging to el Chapo took control over a Beltran Leyva stronghold

Translated by El Wachito for Borderland Beat Original article available at Riodoce, 9.22.16

By Miguel Angel Vega, reporting for Riodoce

A dozen of armed man, under the command of Aureliano Guzman Loera "El Guano", took control of a small town known as Huixiopa in Badiraguato which was a controlled area under the people of the Beltran Leyva brothers.

From that town were deployed the armed commandos that took control of La Tuna last month and invaded the house of Consuelo Loera, mother of el Chapo Guzman. The armed commando killed at least two locals.

According to a patrol conducted by Riodoce(news chain from Sinaloa), the town was abandoned because the local residents ran to other nearby ranches or to Culiacan due to the daily armed clashes.

"This is a war zone and at any moment one can start hearing the "Cohetazos" (gunshots), we recommend you to leave by where you came from", claim one of the gunman, who was wearing a hat with the #701 emblema, which makes a reference to Joaquin Guzman. The same gunman stated that they were people of "El señor Guzman".

According to the reports the residents ran away from the place several days ago, the clashes are happening on a daily basis, and the presence of armed man of el "Guano", suggests that the war in that region is being won by the Guzman Loera family.

El Guano Guzman, brother of el Chapo
During the patrol it was noted that the gunman were not attacking civilians because the only two residents who were making their way to Arroyo Seco, were allowed to make it through the checkpoint.

The gunman clarified that the war was not against the government or civilians, it was against the people that belonged to the Beltran Leyva.

"Those we are going to shot", stated one of the gunman, all of them armed with AK-47 rifles, with drum magazines, grenades, radios and ammo.

The presence of the government was nule. Throughout the inspections conducted by Riodoce and by the statements made by the gunman we can conclude that the clashes will cease until one side completely annihilates the other.

From the top municipality, to Bacaroragua, place where the asphalt ends, we cannot appreciate the presence of any police corporation, no army elements or marines.

The town mayor of Badiraguato, Mario Valenzuela, recognize that since the military left the zone a few weeks ago, the clashes have resume and therefore has resulted in the abandonment of the towns in the region.

    1. any town in the sierra madre occidental between Chihuahua, Sinaloa and Durango and parts of Sonora are of great importance to the cartels, the area is notorious for marijuana and opium production, not to mention an uncountable amount of clandestine labs and air strips for the transhipment of cocaine and crystal meth, living in the hills has its pros and cons, but if you plan on living a life of crime there is no better place than to do it from the shadows within El Triangulo De Oro.. the remote terrain makes it the perfect hideout

This is revenge for the shooting in Chapo's town and attacking his Mom's house and people said there was no retaliation with Chapo being in jail.Well now there is.The enemy [BTO I guess]was probably waiting for retaliation and were probably starting to relax and boom they got caught offguard maybe after things cooled down.Besides maybe there's a lot more to it than what we know. You say there's no routes but there has to be to get that heroin and MJ out of that territory and maybe 1 of them wants another's local poppy field. We really don't know.

They are located in rural areas so you are able to view within miles if Guachitos (army) or Marinelas (marines) are commin'. . . . .and it's not about fighting, it's more about securing. Somebody that's somebody. . . . . is hiding in that city!. . .

    7. There are many hundred pistas aterrizaje to move contraband through Badiraguato to Culiacan. The rutas, people and security through Badiraguato is necessary because Culiacan is the most important city of investors, logistics, and services for narcotraficantes. Like NYC for stocks, Leon GTO for leather, Culiacan economy is fueled by contraband and Badiraguato is important piece of a puzzle.
There are hundreds pistas de tierra near presa Sanalona, Humaya and all have rutas to Badiraguato. Even Comedero harvests travel to Culiacan.

    9. Every cartel has their area of logistic not just culiacan, culiacan is important for beltranes and chapos but not for other cartels. Cjng has theirs in Jalisco, zetas in tamaulipas and ct in michoacan. No other cartel depends on cds because they have their own connects. Those pueblos are nothing to fight over because they are just little towns where people live but these idiots want to fight over them for pride. The only one who might live there is el guano and it makes sense why he wants those ranchitos. If guano was so organized and a bad mofo, I don't understand why some other cartel can just go and take over. El guano was basicly hiding and recruiting to take back his home.. Weak if you ask me. He probably got jacked for drugs and guns from his house just like chapos mom got robbed for bikes and stuff...

You sir have no idea about what you're talking about.. It is in the Golden Triangle where small nameless towns play a HUGE role... towns like these are more crucial to trafficking than a city like Monterrey... monterrey and guadalajara and the likes are only sought after for their money laundering activities, extortion and kidnapping.. tell me the last time a colombian aircraft landed in monterrey unloaded dope to a semi truck and took off... never thats when ... these small pueblos in the Golden Triangle are valuable for their drug production and drug transhipment activities.. The Golden Triangle is the by far the largest drug production terrain this close to the border... every square inch is worth $$$$

Also the Gusmanez don't mess with the local people unlike the the Beltranes who hires Zetas, Lieneros, n ppl from Michocan aka cjng which don't care bout the local population since they are not local them selves.

  16. MEXICO CITY -- Prosecutors in Mexico say they have detained one of the FBI’s 10 most-wanted fugitives after 17 years on the run -- a Mexican citizen sought for kidnapping, rape and homicide charges in Chicago.

The federal attorney general’s office said Thursday that Fidel Urbina was detained on a U.S. extradition warrant in a tiny hamlet named “El Polvo” in a remote part of the border state of Chihuahua. He was taken into custody without incident Thursday by Interpol and Policia Federal Ministerial.

According to the FBI wanted poster, Urbina is wanted for allegedly beating and raping a woman in March of 1998.

“While out on bond, he also allegedly beat, raped and strangled a second woman to death in October of 1998. Her body was later found in the trunk of a vehicle that had been burned,” according to the FBI.

He’s been the subject of a worldwide manhunt since 1999, when he was charged federally with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.

“Many family members have waited a long time for this day to come and they deserve the opportunity to face the accused in a court of law,” Michael Anderson, special agent in charge of the FBI Chicago office, said in a statement.

Urbina was added to the FBI’s 10 Most Wanted list in 2012. He’s expected to remain in custody pending extradition proceedings.

The Beltran Leyvas especially H2 have centered on taking Mazatlan and el Rosario which they took already and they keep on getting closer and closer to Culiacan they're coming from the South now since H2 controls the state of Nayarit .it's a very important city . Chapos faction is looking weak . The report says there are gunfights almost daily which means they are fighting to control those small towns. If Chapo doesn't escape soon I can see Guano being found dead. The fight in Badiraguato is mostly el mochomitos and el Azuls people they haven't even brought in Chapo Isidro when they do , they will be in real trouble
