Tamaulipas conflict continues, death toll now 21

Lucio translated and republished from Milenio

The day of violence in Tamaulipas continues. A couple of shootouts were registered yesterday and Sunday between federal forces and armed civilians, leaving a toll of three suspected criminals killed and one arrested, bringing the total to 21 deaths since February 1, reported the Coordination Group for Public Safety.
Yesterday, just before nine o'clock, a clash occurred in Reynosa; passengers in a truck, which was traveling by the ejido la Retama, towards the town of San Fernando, opened fire on members of the Department of Defense and  Federal Police.

In that conflict, two suspected criminals were killed by security elements, who also arrested a third offender identified as Abraham Linares, 29.
Two rifles, a grenade launcher, cartridges and chargers also seized.
Meanwhile, last Sunday, gunmen attacked military elements on the Reynosa-Matamoros highway, at the junction of La brecha 124, in the municipality of Rio Bravo.
At around 23:45 hours where two vehicles carrying the assailants confronted the military, who repelled the attack. One of the suspects was killed and the rest fled.
On vehicles two rifles, 440 cartridges, 22 magazines, ponchallantas(road tire spikes) and a bulletproof vest, among other articles were found.

  1. Elections are coming, looks like the heating up of the plaza goes on, lety salazar will not be governor, and viejidio cantu keeps delivering for el PRI...
--all the weapons confiscated and one bullet proof vest will be planted again on a new batch of suspects, no matter cdg or zetas, no time to assign cartel...
''Ya te agarre, ya te chingastes'', turns into ''ya hasta te mate''

    1. Better weapons and training. Enough said

    2. IMO, most of the deaths occurring in Matamoros and surrrounding municipiosis in the last 2 weeks he result of CDG faction on faction violence. - not the result of security forces versus cartel faction confrontations. Occasionally the security forces and CDG cells might be running into each other during these last couple of weeks, and well the PF/state/ military do have to engage and deter the sicarions and catch them; however, the dead are mainly coming from Metros and Cilclones confrontations. In other words due to corruption, they're letting these factions fight it out. Security forces do incur casualties and they are better
      armed/trained. Practice makes perfect.
I also believe some cartels are more formidable than others. You don't hear about to many shootouts between the security forces of Mexico and CDS, CBL/Oficina, and CJNG. Then again the first order of business should be business and not to get involved in senseless violence.

    3. No, el pri doesn't want to seem weak so any casualty by the military wouldn't be published same with our government and Its minimal life loss in the middle east

    4. Deaths during the Iraq/ Afghanistan wars weren't minimized as far as U.S military forces casualties or for that matter of indigenous population, both civilian and
combatant. The casualties numbers were accurately reported. For example, U.S.casualties in Iraq were about 34,000: 4,000 deaths; 30,000 injured. The American public is not necessarily concerned with the deaths of non-Americans, wether friend or for, but of American casualties. As far as Mexico's security forces is concerned, casualties of police of all corporations are accurately betrayed. Some of these people aren't professional soldiers. Now as far as military forces, I don't think these cartels haven't inflicted heavy
losses. The army and marines are better equipped and trained than the Cartel forces. The military forces use helmets, balaclavas, armored vests, full-auto rifles, heavy caliber mounted guns, armored vehicles, etc. The cartel gunmen will be lucky to have a worn vest with some of these cartels.

  3. Its amazing how these cartel gunmen can just attack the military/police on any given time/day. Even though the gunmen lose the battle half of the time, its just amazing, that there shows no respect to the mexican military/police. Cartel gunmen must wake up in the morning and say to themselves, LETS MAKE SOME NOISE TODAY. LETS GO GET IN A GUN FIGHT WITH MILITARY/POLICE

    1. These news reports are almost always in favor of the army/marines and make the gunmen look stupid. Do read with caution, it is not always like gunmen suddenly appear and starts firing at them.

    2. the same reason why they all fight the police and military: because they are either young and feel invincible or drugged up and feeling invincible. or a combination thereof.

    3. Most of these reports aren't trust worthy I,doubt the death is barely 21 remeber the shootout that happend in reynosa I think in 2013 or 2014 it was reported that the death toll alone was 40 and like 15 federales, didnt BB posted a report on how many soldiers were killed in tamaulipas it showed that the CDG ambushed a military convoy and killed like 30 guys and noone reported it

    4. Please remember when we translate an article, in this case Milenio, it is their report, and usually the "official count", we know the number of killings are most likely greatly under reported.

I recall when Tormenta was killed in that horrific shootout lasting multiple days, the number of deaths was so reduced it was only about a fifth of the true tally.

    5. Honestly yes they do as a way to show that there group stands strong & wont fear no one. When these 35"Sikarios" get trained they brain wash them to the point fear is just a feeling they should ignore because real men don't have fear. All these CDG 35s are hella crazy they even have shootouts in TEXAS with ICE, DEAs & local police departmens to show CDG is strong on there turf.

Dude, the last thing estakas want to do is attack military,if they get spotted they will fight back but only cause they have to.They just don't go around attacking military, they may be stupid, but they definitely aren't that stupid..

  5. Say what you want, but CDG hit men are more brave than zetas, perhaps they're dying on purpose to show zetas that they will not tolerate any advances to take the town

    1. If you are stupid enough to go off and die so some pig can get rich, your mother truly should have just had an abortion to begin with because all you were ever worth was the cost of RU486 to begin with. Personally, if anyone ever said I should go off and die because of loyalty to them I would show them my loyalty with a bullet. No piece of shit is worth giving your life for when you know all along that your life never meant shit to them anyway, and I know they these assholes talk a good game, but when it comes right down to it 99.9% of them are all to willing to see you die so they can keep filling their pockets with all that cash, I say if they've had the chance to be at the top for awhile let them die and let someone else have a chance. Don't give your life for nothing, let who ever asking give theirs first to show their down, then maybe it's worth the risk.

If La Republica has 900,000 of these kind of people that need to be killed then let's go. These are not good people who have gone bad, they are delinquentes who think a cuerno makes them el rey. If la republica loses one million of them so much the better Mexico will be. This is scum-cleaning mayoreo style.

  9. In part all of you might be right or correct with your comments but here is the real deal... Why should i as a sicario take on the military let me try and explain it to you guys as i continue to go to mexico.... Well you guys know about the halcones correct... well these eyes on the ground monitor the movement and report... And the sicarios evade and stay away from military contact,... In this case attention is not good for business,.. BUT... If for any reason a an halcon fell asleep or missed and did not report a military convoy past his location then the confrontation may happen,... The second way or manner that a confrontation may happen is if a head of sicarios or a boss is about to be captured then the sicarios have to take on any thing or everything even a suicide mission,... The third manner is when to warring factions are cleaning house and there is infighting and the halcones are getting wacked and the line of communication gets cut off by either warring faction then they again run into the military,... Let me tell you no matter who you are or what cartel you are from.... It is bad for business to take on the government,... The attrition rate does not add up there are far more soldiers and marines than there are sicarios.... The confrontations are not wanted because we all know the outcome,... So to say this cartel has more balls than that cartel,... Does not make sense,... Well that is my opinion and explanation on why the sicarios take on the military.....

Exactly man, estakas DO NOT want to run into military.
If they do they have no other option than to fire, they are getting killed whatever so they may as well die trying ?

  13. Viejidio cantu's state police Herculos sold the stolen truck to leti's boyfriend, that does not make him or leti assassins, the PRI is heaing up the plaza with viejidio to burn up
    Lety's chances...
--i am not for any party, but viejidio is the more manoso criminal politician, and murderer too, murdering one, two or three guys EVERY DAY, no problem for him, with the accompanying version of ''they attacked the poor army'' as if we did not know their murdering asses, and saying ''they were narco-sicarios'' and planting weapons...
    --Yeah, yeah, yeah... we know...
--El lazca may be as dead as el macho prieto, el azul, el chayo, or once DFS agent, francisco sahagun baca, whose empty tomb remains empty in michoacan, and being miguel angel osorio chong's guy, both from hidalgo state, makes it even more believable that, lazca lives!!!
