The Unofficial Iguala History; Fed Police and Army Involved in Massacre?

Fed. Police blocking access to clandestine  fosas (graves)

Posted and translated by DD republished from Proceso.

DD: Could finding the truth about Iguala get any crazier?

The night of September 26 policemen from Iguala and Cocula, obeying orders of the mayor Iguala , attacked the teacher training students in Ayotzinapa, killed three and another 43 they  turned over to Guerreros Unidos, a group that allegedly killed the students and incinerated their corpses . That is the official version. But a journalistic investigation, based on official documents, videos and testimonials, tell a different story: The attack was orchestrated and executed by the Federal Police, with the complicity or open collaboration of the Army.

MEXICO, D. F. (Process) .- Federal forces participated in the attack against the students at the normal Ayotzinapa the night of September 26 in Iguala, Guerrero, during which died three teacher training and 43 went missing in a succession of facts that was known in real time by the federal government.

A study done with the support of the Journalism Program of Research from the University of California at Berkeley on the basis of testimonies, videos, unpublished reports and judicial statements shows that the Federal Police (PF) participated actively and were directly involved in the attack.

Even more, according to information obtained by the normal process of Ayotzinapa, the attack and disappearance of the students was directed specifically to the ideological structure and governance of the institution, because one of the 43 missing  was part of the Committee on student Struggle, the highest governing body of the school and 10 were "political activists in training" of the committee of political and ideological orientation (COPI).

Until now the official version is that the then mayor of Iguala, José Luis Abarca, ordered the aggression, concerned about the possibility that students interrupted the report on the activities of his wife, Maria de los Angeles Pineda Villa, President of the municipal DIF.

According to this version, municipal police of Iguala and the neighboring municipality of Cocula attacked and captured the students, while members of Guerreros Unidos killed the missing and burned their corpses. with the ignorance of the federal agents and soldiers stationed in the area.

However, the videos, documents and testimony obtained reveal a different story.
Video on next page;

An unpublished report of the Government of Guerrero - dated in October and handed over to the Ministry of the Interior (Segob) more than a month ago- obtained by Proceso around the facts of 26 and 27 September says that from the time of their departure from the Normal School of Ayotzinapa facilities, students were monitored by State and federal government officials.

 According to the document,:

At 17:59 the Center of Control, Command, Communications and Calculation (C4) of Chilpancingo informed that the normalistas were departing from Ayotzinapa heading to Iguala.

At 20:00 the PF and the state police came to the federal toll road between Chilpancingo-Iguala, where the students were starting doing a collection from passing motorist (a common practice for he Normalistas).

At 21:22 hours the Federal Police Chief based in Iguala, Luis Antonio Dorantes,  was informed of the entry of young people to the bus station and at 21:40 the C4's even reported the first shooting

DD:  Those old famous 2 questions;  What did they know?  When did they know it?

  1. Those who filmed, they weren't attacked? They shouted loud enough, dangerous?

I wish they would have had higher quality cameras.

Now what? the authorities were the shooters, can't this lead to arrests etc?

    1. I came up with a strategy to identify criminals and it doesn't require violent action. Later today I'll be contacting a former Mr. X who I've made contact with in the past regarding the matter. I continue to develop the original idea examining it from different angles. It would be set in motion in a certain part of Mexico to test it out and see how IT can be improved.

It's fun to laugh but IS THAT ALL WE CAN DO?!

By contributing one way or another right.?

  6. It is time the police officers did a gut check! When are the mid level commanders going to do the right thing! It's obvious things in Mexico will never get better unless there is a revolution of the common classes or some mid-level leadership starts taking a stand and goes against corruption! It's disgusting what is going on!!! It seems all of the police and military are a bunch of incompetent sheep! If they truly love Mexico they will do the right thing!!! Pancho Villa? Zapata?

  7. The local police who participated in the shooting have been under arrest for weeks. The video offers no proof that federal police participated, other than shouting.

  10. The problem now is that in Iguala, despite the heavy 'official' fed police presence there is a major turf war going on between the Rojos and LFM. My sources tell me that the locals do not stay in any one place long for fear. My recent night in the town had me shocked to hear at least 40 shots from short machine gun bursts. Some Gov! I am scared for the avg jose on the street.

  11. This is all so weird and seems like fake to me. If it all was true, we would be seeing this posted in many other major sites not just a few leftish ones. This would obviously be a major impact news... unless the whole world is conspiring hahaha... My English is not that good, I´m Mexican, but the English of this article really sucks: "...during which died three teacher ..." A fake Mexican site created by the leftish press to give "international credibility" to this kind of fake news? Maybe... As I said, I would believe on what is mentioned in this article when I see it posted in the major international news sites. So far, it´s just some poor quality videos, which provide no clear information, and non-published "proofs".

    1. Yeah the major new sites really post the truth? Ah ah! If you've been following BB for at least a year you would have know that whatever was posted on BB later made its way to major news sites! BB is a front line news site that is way ahead of all those major news sites! Go back to the major new sites and keep living in la la land!

    3. It will probably not be published in a major international news site, just like so many of the tragedies that happen daily in Mexico. If Mexico does not report them why should the rest of the world. Even when they are reported on CNN or other News outlets only a few people respond. Like who gives a dam. Maybe people are just saying around the world. Oh, this is Mexico. This has been going on forever there and is part of the culture. It seems here that the Mexican people just go blindly through their daily lives and do not care unless it effects them personally. Nobody even cares or talks about these tragedies after about a week. This has been the longest one so far. When it drops out of site it will be back to normal as always happens here. By normal I mean horrible being the world to describe normal here. After you see bodies hanging from bridges like piñatas and loosing friends you know that it will not stop and this is life here.

In the iguala story I tried getting my journalists friends of major media like NYT and Global Post to run the story. They did not for over a week. I had the story on BB in 8 hrs after the attack.

Sometimes we are not so perfect or pretty, as we do not have an editing department to turn to and say "make this awesome", but we only care about getting the news quickly, truthfully and readable.

All that said, I wondered about this story as well. Because my sources say they know nothing about this

    6. All right, I'm who posted it originally, the "official idiot", as someone called me. It was never my intention to be offensive but, can somebody point me to a major international news site where all this had been published? I mean, other that Proceso, Aristegui, sinembargo.mx, etc. The work made by Aristegui on Peña Nieto's White House came along with a lot of evidence (links to paperwork, for example) and really caught international attention. Is the evidence for this "Unofficial Iguala History" published somewhere? If it is, I'll take my hat off for a brilliant work. Otherwise, it is just what this article says (with no concise proofs at all) and some poor quality videos which require blind faith to believe in it.

  12. I was reading this at the huffington post...different narration tho, this here fails to mention the fact that ut was the journalist with the most balls in mexico...Anabel Hernandez who brought this to light, which is kinda confusing to me because I red a story not too long ago that she had fled the country due to threats by asshole organized crime, this here has got to lead somewhere we talking the irrefutable fact of state terrorism against citizens, the state working in cahoots with the mafias, if this doesn't then nothing will.

  17. I have held back on weighing in...because it puts me in the uncomfortable position of appearing to defend the state and feds.

    1. BUT...those who have actually followed my reporting on iguala for the past year will know that the feds were begged by citizens to intervene, they were told by both calderon and epn administrations that "it is a gro problem not federal"

so the fact that anyone one declare the feds had anything to do with the violence on or before September 27th is not factual

    2. as for the state, they were culpable of killing activists and students, even killing two normalistas in 2013. HOWEVER, in this attack, and this alone, they were not involved. I in fact have a transcript of a recorded telephone communication and the recorded call itself, between the state police and the Iguala mayor a few days after the attack. The state was grilling the mayor wanting to know what the hell happened, and that he promised to give a report but had not submitted it, so the nayor and his wife were called to give a statement at the capital at 2:00 the following afternoon. The mayor says clearly he would be there.

however that is the day they packed up the dogs and daughter and went into hiding.

I must agree with the previous comment about anabel hernandez. she is a talented writer who uses some level of truth but then artistically changes facts and flat out invent her truth to make sure a book sells.

She did so with the chapo book and did so with dr. mireles, of which I grilled him and he was disappointed with hernandez. he has always made himself available to the press and even bloggers like me. yet she never once called him, emailed him , text him or reached out to him or any other autodefensas leader to fairly, and in keeping with journalistic integrity, get their side of the story or comment.

that to me is all telling. it is not about the truth. ever. she in my opinion is not in any more level of danger than anyone else, and yes she lives in the US most of the time, which is fine, but don't pretend to be something you are not.

and for God;s sake don't hurt Mexico by fabrications, the truth is enough, the truth is too much. and a riveting story in itself.

If you want a true hero, the heavily awarded Adela Navarro Bello of Zeta Magazine is your girl.
