Alfredo Beltran Leyva "El Mochomo" will be extradited to the US

Chivis Martinez Borderland Beat
Alfredo Beltran Leyva, alias El Mochomo's release date came and went with him remaining  in prison.

In June, the federal court denied an injunction against extradition filed on behalf of Beltran.  . The drug trafficker was arrested in 2008, and will be extradited  to the United States, where he will be prosecuted in federal court for various crimes.

El Mochomo, faces charges in the District Court of Columbia, Washington, for conspiracy and drug possession for purposes distribution.
Alfredo Beltran Leyva was scheduled to go free last October, and was close to being released, because an appellate court granted an injunction, but an extradition order by the United States stopped him from leaving prison.

“Justicia de la Unión, does not protect the complainant Alfredo Beltran Leyva, alias Mochomo, from  the agreement of November 26, 2013, in which it granted the government of the United States of America  its international extradition to stand trial in the Federal District Court in the District of Columbia, Washington DC "

Beltran Leyva faces charges for possession and trafficking of prohibited  Category II  substances, in accordance with the Code of Federal Regulations, specifically,  cocaine and meth amphetamines substances.
"He is charged with conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance; namely five kilograms or more of cocaine and 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, knowing that these controlled substances were being imported illegally into the United States ", notified the trial judge.
The unsuccessful demand was filed by  the defense( 1270/2013) against the extradition order, in  December of  2013.

Alfredo Beltran Leyva, was arrested on January 21, 2008 by military elite Mexican Army, and is currently being held in the prison of maximum security Puente Grande.

  13. That's wat the Beltran Leyvas thought that he was coming out that's why they wanted chapo arrested or killed but guess wat ? The government is in chapos side Guzman will never leave Mexico all that show about being treated bad in jail is just a lie too bad mochomo u should of listen to your son

  14. Those charges are very light. He is not going to Florence. Those my guess could carry from 9 to 18 years. There is a good possibility if it isn't proven double jeapardy that the time could be run concurrent with the time he did. So hold on Johnny Law wanna be's. I isn't any big deal. I dont know why you would want to spend millions on prosecution and incarceration when he has been in jail 8 years already. And why is it you think our prisons are so bad, worse than Mexico's? You have to be a severe risk, extremely violant, or you pissed someone off very high up to be placed in anything other than our federal hotels. Spend your money not mine. And actually Mochomo was one of the last really old school cartel players that was about nothing but protecting his territory and his people and moving loads.

  35. Federal prision in the US is a piece of pan dulce. Salad bars, healthcare, better than many americans can pay for. They have gyms and you meet other like minded people. Super-max prison is a place designed to house violent prisoners or prisoners who might threaten the security of the guards or other prisoners. So these men will be able to walk around, until they try to hurt someone. In a nice air conditioned facility. They'll leave that prison healthier than if they would have been on the outside. My friends dad, had been in and out of state prison, when he finally went to the federal pen. He said "I made it to the big times" fed time was just chillin. He made his money on the streets from the phone. Which he had smuggled in. Prison guards and other folk bring in tobacco or heroine, pot or whatever you "need". Vs Mexican penal supermax with their gross saltless food. No healthcare and constant rioting. The only thing good about Mexican prison is you can get women in, and eventually yourself out.

    4. "He is charged with conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance; namely five kilograms or more of cocaine and 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, knowing that these controlled substances were being imported illegally into the United States " thats hardly druglord status. People crossing the bridge with 25 get 5 years. If you have kingpin status, you still are placed in gen pop, some even get cushy jobs. You're right, he's an alleged 5 kilo(cocaine) and 50 grams(meth) dealer. At least in the eyes of the american gov. Dont fear american fed time. It's like a rehab, you gather energy, to come out fighting like a lion. You learn about other people and how rjey where caught. Its like an Ivy leage school if you meet the right people and learn from your mistakes. You be a better buisnessman. Heck, they pay for you to get an education. I suggest culinary arts, something about the kitchen that helps you become a better organizer.

  43. All I want to say is that soon after Mochomo was caught everything went to hell in Mexico. We used to be able to go pretty much anywhere in Sinaloa any time of day or night without being scared of a shootout or being kidnapped. That was all cause Mochomo was keeping the peace from Guadalajara to Nogales. Never heard of beheadings or shootouts in Guamuchil or a war against Guasave...they were all brothers then. Whatever happened between chapo and mochomo we can only wonder, but it turned the country to shit real quick for everyone.

    1. Your right he should b let out maybe Sinaloa will have peace again atte Sinaloense 100%

    2. You can say the same for Chihuahua. Things were peaceful until Chapo got greedy and decided to take Juarez by force. All the time/effort and people killed for a border crossing. The ironic thing was that it took Chapo along time to take Juarez but basically lost it over night when got lock up.
