Hipólito Mora Will Be Set Free Today

The lawyer of one of the founders of the autodefensas claims that there is no evidence found to keep his client in jail; he expects him out by tonight

Eduardo Quintero, Hipólito Mora’s lawyer, reported that his client will be set free by tonight after the detention order was revoked against him.

The lawyer said in an interview with Radio Fórmula that there was no evidence found to keep his client in jail; Mora was decreed by a judge on Wednesday, March 19, 2014. (Additional info)

“He is getting the release of two processes”, Quintero said; since he announced a few days ago that they opened a new inquiry for alleged illegal deprivation of liberty.

He noted that his client could be released between 22:00 and 23:00 hours today (Friday).

Mora was arrested on Tuesday, March 11 on charges of his alleged involvement in the murder of Rafael Sánchez Moreno, "El Pollo", and his companion, José Luis Torres, “El Niño”, who were found on a truck.

“There is insufficient evidence to be able to determine that he was involved in the killings”, Quintero said.

He added that Hipólito is already aware of his release order and after he gets out of jail, he will go for a coffee at the center of Morelia.

  2. I always applaud when someone is released, it is such a harsh thing to do to a man, I know in a lot of cases the person deserves to be locked up but, it was too convenient as to when he was arrested I mean silenced, althoughni wouldnt tell anyone where imgonna have a chanate

  7. Wait, let me get this straight.

Narco kills civilians, they walk free for years and years and years, until another Narco gets them.

Armed civilian kills narco and he gets locked up?(In this case, he gets set free because they can't prove it, but shouldn't have been locked up in the first place.) It seems like the Mexican gov't can't protect it's people and doesn't want the people themselves protecting themselves. Backwards much? I support the Mexican people and I hope they get enough arms and ammunition to take out all the narcos and take their gov't back.

  10. Thank god for those good, competent and honest attorneys in Mexico unlike many who just take your money and run without doing you any good. From the very beginning of Mora's arrest I could see his attorney was doing all he could to obtain Mora's release. If the man is truly innocent and you got him released, you've done a great job sir. Congratulations y mis respetos.

  11. Federales were just mad at common folk killing off their golden gooses --> the narcos... so they had to use H. Mora as an example to others --> don't go around killing the nacos!

  12. the spurious charges did not stick, but el castillo de cagada took hipolito out of the game, now with charges pending against Mireles, and with his possible imprisonment, against which Dr can not get an amparo until he is formally charged, unless he buys it in advance, he hopes to silence Mireles too, killing 5 guys has to be good for something, like advancing the new gang of narco-limonero aguacateros cartel agenda. as the mexicns say nobody can be a prophet on his own turf, so for the good of his followers, and himself, Dr Mireles may want to work his charms somewhere else, he will find a lot of followers on mexico and wherever he wants to go, he can still count for something, and not just quit and see all the work of his followers go to waste, it has not been just a fairy tale, it worked...

  14. Dr. Mireles just finished accusing Commissioner Castillo of receiving $5mil.USD from money Pitufo, Cinco, and Americano took from La Tuta's house in Arteaga. They took $30mil. total according to Dr. Mireles. I have reservations on this Castillo. The Dr. claimed that Castillo demanded money from Pitufo Beltran inorder to finance his campaign for a possible run for governor for the state of Mx. If the accusation is proven true, an investigation into possible organized crime activity by Castillo would/should be carried out. However, this is Mx. we are talking about.
