Diego Fernández: Authority Must Act Fair With Miguel Treviño

Borderland Beat

“The authority must act legally and fair”, said the former PAN senator"
 Photo taken while held captive
MONCLOVA, Coahuila. - The government must act legally with the detention of Miguel Ángel Treviño Morales, aka “Z-40”,  said former president candidate Diego Fernández de Cevallos. The PAN member served as special guest to the inauguration of Proyecto Fénix in the enterprise Altos Hornos de México in Monclova and there he used the event  to invite Mexicans to take as an example the achievements that the enterprise has achieved.
According to the publication of the website Milenio,  Diego said that Alonso Ancira Elizondo, president of the Administrative Council of AMHSA, was who invited him and said that it is an example that when there is will, the results benefit Mexico.
“There are millions of human beings that don’t have to wait any longer, we have to make things right so that the country will be out of poverty and ignorance”, he said.
He commented as well, that change (in Mexico) will be achieved if each one of the citizens becomes an obligor of Mexico to achieve greatness,  and not become as a creditor (as if the country owes the citizen).
Changing the subject, he indicated that the last electoral process (referring to PAN party) they did well, in Monclova for example, but bad in other regions, “we need to make things better”.
Regarding the arrest of Miguel Ángel Treviño Morales, Z-40, he said he beliefs in the penal justice system. “It is said that he was a bloodthirsty man, but the State, government and authorities should not be bloodthirsty with him, it must be fair”.

Fernández de Cevallos, who was victim of organized crime, since he was kidnapped  gave this opinion: “Men and women, rich or poor, from one side or the other, we all have a right to born, live and die in peace”. (photo above was upon his release)

Video Narrative:

The state should not be bloodthirsty with Z-40: Fernández de Cevallos.
"The important thing, first of all, is that law and justice need to be applied. Of course, I believe that even though it is said that he was a bloodthirsty man, the state, the government, the authority should not be bloodthirsty with him. It needs to be legal and fair."

"Secondly, he cannot and should not be left unpunished,  so much pain, so many deaths and so many crimes that have occurred in this country; hopefully, once and for all, we find the paths to understand each other, between Mexicans”.

  6. This capture by MATM will in no way end the existence of the Zetas or any other cartel for that matter anytime soon. There is too much money to be made in the lucrative business of narco trafficking. Unfortunately the corrupt politicians/military/police are to eagerly ready to put their hands out for the next bribe to be paid. How about its time to be fair to the people of MX. and the innocent victims of the narco violence. The madness will continue.

With the leverage the U.S.A has with his family that are locked up in USA prisons and no mexican corrupt connections he'll be signing like a canary cutting deals and hand writing entire lists of corrupt officials in mex that let him exist. Piece of Shit! REMEMBER THERE IS STILL THOUNSANDS of crimanals that follow this guy, teens that look up to him and children that can grow up to be worst. Protest that instead of Trayvon martin bullshit

  10. bottom line,in Mexico criminals have more rights than victims,The Catholic Church and the so-called Human Rights Watch are hurting the Mexican people, they both go all out to protect criminals at any cost and that is the sad truth...

  11. I will applause his words, and I hope the Mexican government make a example of Trevino Morales and make him pay for his crimes. If it was up to me, I will kill the man, for him to be the first man to receive capital punishment in Mexico.

    1. About 100 000 people have received capital punishment from these mofos, plus torturefor quite a few.they need to be left pennyless, tortured and summarily executed, and they still won't pay their debts to the Mexican people.by the way, death to the greedy in government and their accomplices.things could be soon good!

  12. a just execution for z would be to have done to him what he did to others. failing that a firing squad a blindfold and a cigarette would be more than he gave the poor retched souls he sent to heaven or hell.

  13. 40 deserves no pity whatsoever. Did he treat those 4 women police officers he killed personally with a single 2x4 fairly and justly? This is why people continue to do such horrendous acts, they are never held accountable. Sitting in prison is no punishment for this monster, he needs a taste of the bullshit he was slinging all over Mexico for years. Its hillarious to me that a man that was in charge of the biggest gang of murderers, rapists, torturers, extortionists, etc etc wants protection from the country he helped destroy.

  14. If Mexico is to be fair with Trevino, that means no special prison with personal kitchen and hookers. He goes to general population with a bunch of golfos like every other common criminal. That would be fair.

  15. After his kidnap, Diego came away a thoughtful human that is able to think in a way that surmounts revengeful anger. He seems to have the clarity that allows him to focus on the integral issue rather than a knee jerk reaction.

He made me stop and think. a society must react to injustice, with justice, not further injustice. It is what creates a society that is stronger the its ills.

Another thing I liked of what he said you may have missed, he said that Mexicans must feel obligated to Mexico, and not expect Mexico to be obligated to them.

JFK said something similar when he said "ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country."

In Mexico, few have a mindset that says, they are willing to give of themselves, even their lives, for the good of society.

Justice IMO would be solitary confinement for the remainder of his life. He is fighting that because he knows the likelihood of continuing at the helm of Zetas would vanish. and I cannot think of a greater punishment than to be isolated and alone with his thoughts.

But it does have to be legal and it does have to be fair, we cannot pick and choose when fairness is applicable, or the system remains corrupt and the wrongfully convicted, such as the man in "Presumed Guilty", will continue to rot unjustly imprisoned.

Diego is a good man and a deep thinker, he said the 6 months of being captive changed him, and partly because of talks he had with his captors. He could view society as WE rather than us and them. Before the kidnapping he was a loudmouth attorney, he came out a better person, greatly humbled.

That said I have to say some of you readers have made me laugh so hard with your tirades in both languages. ...Paz, Chivis

  22. It is basic human psychology that a person begins to like what the continualy are exposed to or see. This man has a bit of Stockhom Syndrome; doesn't mean its right. Due process and due course of law should prevail and then imprisonment for a very long time incommunicado so as to keep 40 out of the ship's helm.

  23. Dam you people are animals just like 40, how can y'all say cut his balls or boil him alive cut off his head by Mexico doing that they would be lowering themselves to his lever and never growing as a nation and gov just staying as they are

  24. Fernandez de cevallos, should CONFESS all of his crimes, then he should DECLARE all he knows about the crimes of others and apologize to the country for his part on it,encourage others of his kind to do the same and don't expect the people of Mexico to forgive and forget, maybe God will forgive him. reconciliation is not about our duty to forgive our tresspassers,it is about making ourselves accountable

    ReplyDelete
  25. Yes Chivis, but you and both know that if he stays locked up in Mexico he will not be in solitary confinement. His ass needs to be extradited to the U.S. were there is prisoners already waiting for him.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Mexican socialists will always bow the knee to organized crime. They couldn't run their political campaigns without cartel money...

  27. Chivis...

My deep respect for you and all you do forced me to take your comments (July 19 @ 10:40 PM) to heart. I agree with setting aside "knee jerk" reactions and putting this monster in solitary confinement (preferably in the U.S.) for the rest of his days. Now he needs to start singing!

  30. Mexico is in this mess because of people like Fernadez. They are the ones that created all these monsters like z40.

  31. @ 10:39 am

U stupid moron, were do u think they got the $20million? From all the kick backs for brokering bribes between cartel bosses and government officials. And of course he's never going to reveal who kidnapped him. Don't u think if he ever did, they just might come and take him again

    ReplyDelete
  32. They should break every bone in Z40's body, skin his legs up to his knees and leave him on an anthill.

And I bet that still wouldn't be enough for all the restless souls this demon has sent to the afterlife.

Also this Diego character is most likely still scared shitless of his kidnappers thus asking for "civility" in handling the son of satan.

  33. Diego is right. Many things originate with ourselves. Simple things even. Like taking care of our homes, property, instead of letting it fall apart. It doesn't take much to pull weeds, pick up trash, and make sure we know where our kids are.
If we can't afford kids, then don't have them. As adults, its our responsibility for these things. Even just the minimal things. Check ourselves first. It originates within.

  34. Chivis, its all good 2 b civilized & abide by the law of mankind, however, there r people who dwell among us that r pure evil & have no conscious such as Z40 - when u break every law known 2 mankind & there's no reasoning with the monster / demon why r we the rest suppose 2 even try & treat him with some sense of respect or decency???? He sure as hell didn't earn it or deserves it. We r not god 2 forgive him - I'll leave that up 2 god. As far as Mr.Fernandez is concerned - I'm sure he learned a big lesson n life & probably won't b taking anything 4 granted by the same token there's a strange occurrence that happens with some hostages when held n captivity - they begin 2 have feelings 4 their captors & I believe this occurred with Mr.Fernandez or maybe je justs wants 2 protect himself from being a target again, regardless - we the public r very aware that mexico is very corrupt & has no death penalty. Chivis, that's why u hear our concerns & frustrations with Z40 s rights being protected & administered. He forfeited any human decency towards him when he cruelty & sadistically murdered & tortured so many men, women & children. Please, respect our right 2 feel the way we do towards this monster.

    1. The respect and decency afforded to this man is not for the man himself but for the rule of law, due process and due course of law. Without following the process then we are no better, might makes right, and we decend into anarchy. Give the man a fair trial, right before the hanging.

  37. The fact is Z40 is a product of Mexican / US culture and we all share some responsibility for this monster. Becoming a monster for revenge only increases that responsibility.

  38. The real power in Mexico is CARLOS SALINAS DE GORTARI! Knothing happens in MX without his approval. EPN is his student that he groomed for the presidency, as was Zedillo. I believe even Calderon might fall in the category of friend. He had LD Colosio in TJ, B. California because he didnt want to play ball in the style of PRI politics. He is the behind the scenes dedazo that is subservient to his American masters.
