Through a statement issued by the Ministry of Public Security, it was announced that elements of the Federal Police arrested Candido Ramos Pérez, aka "El Base 40," 30 years old, who was the boss of the plaza in Cuernavaca, Morelos operating for the South Pacific Cartel (Cártel del Pacífico Sur).
The detainee was identified as a logistics officer for the region who managed the "cobro de piso" or the fee to operate in the region, was accused of extortion, kidnapping, executions, was the man in charge of procurement and distribution of drugs, and also coordinated a group of halcones comprised of at least 40 people.
Along with Candido was another man arrested who was identified as Agenor Ferrera Romero, 32 years old, former municipal police officer of Cuernavaca, who was a halcon for the criminal organization.
Police was able to secure six assault rifles of different calibers, a 9mm handgun, a 38 special caliber handgun, 418 rounds of ammunition of different calibers, three cell phones, among other things. In addition, police seized several vehicles that had been previously reported stolen.
