Reporting on the Mexican Cartel Drug War

Sicarios from the Massacre at Las Torres Bar in Cd. Juárez Caught

Sunday, February 13, 2011 |

The five "sicarios," gunmen presumed to  have participated in the massacre at the bar "Las Torres" last Thursday; where seven women and one man died, are now under arrest.

One suspect Roberto Ceballos Martínez, 22, alias "El Robert" was arrested the night of the shooting inside the bar when he tried to go unnoticed after the shooting.

The Federal Police Intelligence Center relayed that this subject had a criminal past involving past drug crimes, and could be linked to the gang known as “Artistas Asesinos” or Assassin Artists, which operates in Cd. Juárez.

The suspects were arrested when federal agents came under gunfire as they were answering a suspicious activity call at a home in the subdivision called  "Fraccionamiento Real."

After the confrontation they were able to arrest Erick Fierro Santos, 23, who was wounded and had to be taken to a nearby hospital.

Also apprehended were Brayan Alexis, 16, and Fernando Pérez Terrazas N., 20, in possession of an AK-47. Fernando Perez has prior convictions for car theft.

Fernando Pérez confessed that the reason they were at this home was to kidnap an alleged extortionist known as "The Panther."  The intended victim was also a member of a rival group and was killed at the scene.

The investigation also led them to the local Red Cross where Ivan Parra Barrios, 23, was being treated for a gunshot wound, and where he was also placed under arrest.

They were able to confiscate an AK-47 rifle, two rifle magazines for 7.62 x 39 mm rounds, 96 rounds of ammunition for an AK-47, a 9 mm pistol, two mobile phones, a two way radio and a Mitsubishi Montero Sport, with license plates EBV-8060 registered in the state of Chihuahua.

The State Attorney's offfice have also identified all of the victims from Thursday's massacre as Sarai Martinez Soto, 21, Dozal Maria Manuela Silva, 35, Alba Liliana Favela Favela, 18, Anabel Medina Márquez, 31, Yadira Dominguez Hernandez, 20, Chavarria Alejandro Saldana, 25, Alondra Rodriguez Ramirez, 26, and José Eduardo Arevalo Trevino, 20 years old.

This is almost funny....these are those who would fight against the American's? How easy it would be to make them run like dogs with tails between their legs.

Surprising. What I want to know is who they worked for, and who the rivals were. How could this be left out of the story, although given the media intimidation it's not really a shock.

Nevermind, i read too fast. AA, they are supported by GN, but I think this has all gone way past a cartel war.

Kind of shows you what the war on drugs has done to the cartels economically
A good Sicario could earn 1000 dollars a week in the old days
now they hire kids at 40 dollars a quincena and have to eat Maruchan soups to get by

I can take on these assholes on one to one hand combat! Fuken cowards, they think they are tough shit with an AK 47... The article by Bowden was right, an old school sicario could eat these guys for breakfast..

Give it two months and the geniuses in charge will let them go to kill again. It seems to me that real judicial justice would go alot farther than the joke it is now...until then my deepest sympathies to all the innocent people of Mexico.

WHEN I LOOK IN THESE FACES I SEE INNOCENT, HARMLESS BOYS-BUT IN REALITY THEY ARE ANIMALS,AND SHOULD BE ELIMINATED BY DEATH PENALTY.IT WOULD BE CHEAPER,THAN MAINTAINING THESE BASTARTDS IN JAIL,AND FINALLY JUSTICE WOULD TRIUMPH.

They still have 5 or 6 more killings in them, Mexico has no justice system and they will be back on the street killing people again in less than a couple of years... Its no wonder Mexico has these problems, it doesnt take a brain surgeon to figure out that by having no life sentences or death penalty that this is the type of society that breeds. It should be mandatory death when they kill police and military and for killing civilians at the least should natural life... Then the prisons are a joke, they have what ever they want...
