The Army dismantles five methamphetamine labs in Culiacán and Cosalá: SInaloa

CULIACÁN. _ As part of operations against drug production and trafficking, members of the Mexican Army located and dismantled five areas used for the production of methamphetamine in the municipalities of Culiacán and Cosalá.


The discoveries were recorded in the towns of San Antonio, La Tasajera, Santa Anita, and Palo Dulce, where military personnel seized a total of 1,425 liters of chemical substances, as well as two condensers and three burners used in the synthetic drug manufacturing process.



According to estimates by federal authorities, the economic impact on organized crime amounts to 29 million pesos.

The sites were closed in a controlled manner to avoid risks to the population and prevent their reuse.

Four drug labs dismantled in Culiacán and Cosalá containing more than 2,000 liters of drug chemicals.

Culiacán, Sinaloa.- In a joint operation, federal and state forces dismantled four sites where chemicals and equipment for the production of synthetic drugs were stored in Culiacán and Cosalá.

During patrols in the mountainous area, members of the Mexican Army, National Guard, Navy, State Police, and personnel from the Attorney General's Office and the State Prosecutor's Office located these sites as part of "Operation Search, Location, and Destruction of Clandestine Laboratories."

The following items were found at the seized sites:

  • 325 liters of acetone
  • 600 liters of toluene
  • 500 liters of hydrochloric acid
  • 180 liters of ethanol
  • 850 liters of ethyl alcohol
  • 150 liters of muriatic acid
  • 4 centrifuges
  • 67 drums
  • 6 drums
  • 7 vats
  • 2 gas tanks
  • 1 water pump
Everything was destroyed according to established protocols and turned over to the Attorney General's Office.

The Mexican Military recently captured the largest methamphetamine lab in Mexico's history in Angostura, Sinaloa, reported newspaper Milenio. This capture comes one week after another major drug lab bust and a methamphetamine seizure in the countryside surrounding Culiacán.
