The Army dismantles five methamphetamine labs in Culiacán and Cosalá: SInaloa

CULIACÁN. _ As part of operations against drug production and trafficking, members of the Mexican Army located and dismantled five areas used for the production of methamphetamine in the municipalities of Culiacán and Cosalá.


The discoveries were recorded in the towns of San Antonio, La Tasajera, Santa Anita, and Palo Dulce, where military personnel seized a total of 1,425 liters of chemical substances, as well as two condensers and three burners used in the synthetic drug manufacturing process.



According to estimates by federal authorities, the economic impact on organized crime amounts to 29 million pesos.

The sites were closed in a controlled manner to avoid risks to the population and prevent their reuse.

Four drug labs dismantled in Culiacán and Cosalá containing more than 2,000 liters of drug chemicals.

Culiacán, Sinaloa.- In a joint operation, federal and state forces dismantled four sites where chemicals and equipment for the production of synthetic drugs were stored in Culiacán and Cosalá.

During patrols in the mountainous area, members of the Mexican Army, National Guard, Navy, State Police, and personnel from the Attorney General's Office and the State Prosecutor's Office located these sites as part of "Operation Search, Location, and Destruction of Clandestine Laboratories."

The following items were found at the seized sites:

  • 325 liters of acetone
  • 600 liters of toluene
  • 500 liters of hydrochloric acid
  • 180 liters of ethanol
  • 850 liters of ethyl alcohol
  • 150 liters of muriatic acid
  • 4 centrifuges
  • 67 drums
  • 6 drums
  • 7 vats
  • 2 gas tanks
  • 1 water pump
Everything was destroyed according to established protocols and turned over to the Attorney General's Office.

Navy secures two clandestine laboratories in Culiacán: Sinaloa

Navy personnel located and neutralized two clandestine laboratories in the town of Los Cedros, municipality of Culiacán.

The “narco-laboratories” with dimensions of approximately 1,600 and 6,000 square meters, where 3 kilos of finished product, 100 liters in cooking, 5,150 liters of phenyl-2 propanone (P2P), 5,500 liters of benzyl chloride, 3,000 liters of acetone, 13,600 liters of ethyl alcohol, 100 liters of hydrochloric acid, 100 liters of gasoline, 11,265 kilograms of tartaric acid, 4,775 kilograms of caustic soda, 1,700 kilograms of sodium cyanide, 120 kilograms of azobisisobutyronitrile, 2,000 kilograms of phenylacetic acid were seized.

Likewise, three stainless steel reactors, five distillers, a stainless steel pot, four plastic vats, two plastic pots, 37 LP gas tanks, four motor generators, four motor pumps, a welding plant, two stainless steel centrifuges, 54 aluminum boxes, a current amplifier, an emery, 20 pressure pliers, 11 burners, a stainless steel shovel, 60 welding electrodes, 20 cutting discs for emery were found.

The laboratories and the various materials were neutralized and destroyed on site, preventing them from being used for the production of synthetic drugs, and the corresponding records were kept by the ministerial authority.

As a result of citizen complaints, Navy personnel attached to the Eighth Naval Region based in Mazatlan, secured chemical precursors, ammunition, tactical equipment and vehicles in the vicinity of Guamuchilera, Bacata and Tecomate, belonging to the municipality of Culiacan, on Wednesday.

The Secretary of the Navy announced that this action was carried out during aerial and land surveillance patrols carried out by naval personnel during the development of the “Operation Component Shield against Organized Crime” and in coordination with local authorities.

According to him, two 50 liter drums with probable chemical precursor, 25 drums of approximately 40 liters with unknown chemical substance, three drums and three gallons with chemical residues; as well as a 20 kilos bucket with probable precursor in powder form were seized.









Nine magazines, 111 cartridges, tactical equipment with two ballistic plates and two vehicles were also seized.


The chemical precursors were neutralized in the area by specialized personnel, while the seized material and vehicles were handed over to the Attorney General's Office (FGR) in the city of Culiacán Sinaloa.
