MALE ANCHOR: In the United States tomorrow, one of the sons-in-law of Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, alias El Mencho, leader of the Jalisco Nueva Generación cartel, will plead guilty to money laundering, as confirmed to Milenio. Sources close to the case confirmed that he is Cristian Ochoa, alias El Guacho, who in 2021 kidnapped two members of the Mexican Navy in Zapopan, Jalisco. This is the work of Ángel Hernández.

ANGEL HERNANDEZ DIAZ: This Friday, Cristian Fernando Gutiérrez Ochoa, alias El Guacho, operator of the Jalisco Nueva Generación cartel, will plead guilty to conspiring to launder money in the Federal Court of Washington, DC. Sources close to the case confirmed that Gutiérrez is a major drug trafficker and the son-in-law of the absolute leader of the criminal organization, Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, alias El Mencho, since he is the partner of his daughter, Laisha Oseguera González. Pleading guilty, the prosecution will dismiss the other charge against him: conspiring to distribute cocaine and methamphetamine to the United States. The agreement, according to the source, would not imply collaboration between Gutiérrez and U.S. authorities, and the maximum sentence he could face is 30 years in prison.

In addition, the government will confiscate the luxurious residence where he was arrested in November 2024 in Riverside, California. The $2,250,000 seized at the property included valuables such as watches and jewelry, and three vehicles: a BMW M4, a Mini Countryman, and a GMC Yukon Denali in Mexico. Gutiérrez Ochoa and Laisha Oseguera were accused by the Navy of being behind the kidnapping of a cadet and a second teacher in Zapopan, Jalisco, in November 2021. Fortunately, five days later, both were found unharmed on a highway. The Marines are presumed to have been kidnapped in retaliation for the arrest of Rosalinda González. Rosalinda Valencia, wife of El Mencho and mother of Laisha, who stopped going to sign for precautionary measures at the unit as part of her money laundering case, according to Washington. From 2015 until 2024, Guacho was part of the cartel's cocaine and methamphetamine trafficking operations and laundered the profits. Guacho was arrested in the United States thanks to an Interpol file with his photograph. He went there to hide after the kidnapping of the two marines. He acquired residency through the tequila company Pasión Azul, a front company for the Jalisco cartel. He used a false identity and also wanted to protect himself by spreading the word among the cartel that his father-in-law had killed him for lying to him.

Lara discovered that in Mexico there is an arrest warrant against Guacho for organized crime and kidnapping, so once he completes his sentence in the United States, he could be deported to face another trial. The woman claims that Laisha was also in Los Angeles and owned a cafe near the Riverside home. Laisha is considered a fugitive from justice and, according to the prosecutor's office, in addition to her Mexican citizenship, holds U.S. citizenship. Ángel Hernández, a former U.S. citizen, claims to be a fugitive from justice.

Yovany Castro Urbano, alias "El Duende," will spend 23 years in prison. He was sentenced for carrying a firearm and possessing ammunition for the exclusive use of the Army, Navy, and Air Force, organized crime for the purpose of committing crimes related to vehicle theft, and use of a stolen vehicle.

The Attorney General's Office (FGR), through the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime (FEMDO), announced the sentence Tuesday morning.

He was arrested in September 2015 in the community of San Antonio Matute, in Ameca, after a confrontation with members of the Mexican Army. At that time, he was transferred to a maximum-security prison.

After reviewing the proceedings and various rulings issued by the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office, the Second District Court for Criminal Matters in Jalisco, located in Puente Grande, sentenced him to 23 years in prison.

Yovany is currently serving his sentence at the Federal Social Readaptation Center No. 14 (CPS) in Durango.

He was linked to the ambushes against members of the Mexican Army in May 2014, as well as another ambush in which 15 state police officers were killed in San Sebastián del Oeste. For this reason, he was one of the priority targets of Operation Jalisco, which was implemented to capture Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, alias "El Mencho."

Omar Garcia Harfuch Says, "Coward Killing Of Ivan Morales And Wife Will Not Go Unpunished". Ivan Morales Former Police Officer Who Survived The May 1, 2015, Downing Of A Helicopter By CJNG Cartel.

MAY 13, 2025
INTERVIEW BY CIRO GOMEZ LEYVA

VIDEO TRANSLATION

To finish Omar, we put emphasis the last two weeks on the murder case. They killed him in the Cuernavaca area in Temixco. Iván Morales, a National Guardsman who fought criminal groups, was seriously wounded, actually losing his face, and they killed him. What about the investigation into his case? And we said here, why aren't those police officers honored? No, we're not talking about a tribute. Why aren't there blanks? That minute, at least, of silence for people like you who have confronted criminal groups and who one day are killed and seem to disappear from the history of this country.

Omar, the case of Iván Morales, a case that you know very well.

Yes, Iván was, as we know, wounded in 2015 when a helicopter crashed and soldiers and a colleague, also from the federal police, lost their lives.

They paid him several tributes, he was decorated, and he retired, and in an extremely cowardly attack. Because we have to understand what criminal organization attacks an unarmed person with his unarmed wife, and they both are killed. One is a priority investigation for us. Of course, it will not go unpunished. In the case of tributes and honors, rest assured, they are honored, honored, more so. We talk more about honor, yes, honor them more. Rather than honoring them, not honoring them in some way, that gesture that the soldiers appreciate so much, that good police officers appreciate so much. Of course, many things are done in private for a reason. We always, always, respect the family's decision. We will, of course, be in permanent contact with institutional and, of course, personal support for everything that is required.

There are things that we do not make public, for obvious reasons, but Iván's case will not go unpunished. Of course, he was an extremely brave young man who served his country for many years and in delicate situations and missions.

Amen.

From the attack in Villa Purificación, Jalisco, to his execution: the story of Iván Morales Story By MILENIO. All Eyes On CJNG Cartel

CHAR
MAY 2, 2025

VIDEO TRANSLATION

Oscar Balderas, dear Oscar, thank you
as always for being with us
dear Elisa, good night, sad night

Hey, yes, how chilling, we were talking while we were also listening to this information from our colleague Ángel eh, after learning the story of this man who had survived the attack and who, well, he, he showed himself as someone, who had been lucky to have survived this tremendous, tremendous attack, yes, when Deputy Officer Iván Morales is called on April 30th, which is the same day he is assassinated in 2025, he is assassinated on April 30th, and on April 30th, 2015, he is called on a secret mission because of the profile of the person they were going to arrest.

Neither he nor his other colleagues from the Federal Police knew the target, nor did they even know where they were going in particular. They simply ask that when they are, an elite group is going to execute an arrest warrant against an important
boss of a major criminal organization. Already in the air, almost arriving, over Villa Purificación, Warrant Officer Iván Morales and his other companions learn about a guy who, at that time,
Elis was almost unknown to the country, a certain Nemesio Ruben Oseguera Cervantes, who they told the guy belonged to an
organization that didn't sound familiar to us as a major national evil: the Jalisco Cartel Nueva Generación 10 years ago
Exactly, that is, on April 30th. They summon him. Don't they tell him, "You have this mission?" He takes off from Mexico City and arrives in Villa Purificación on May 1st.

On May 1st, he is attacked. Here, the Jalisco Cartel completely breaks down and becomes a historic event for several reasons. First, because the person organizing this airstrike, according to official reports, is another criminal of whom we had no record. It was Menchito, the son of Nemesio Oseguera, who, I insist, was also virtually unknown nationally.

In 2015, we discussed the Knights Templar, the Michoacan family, and the Zetas cartel, which became the Northeast Cartel. But there were still people in the Jalisco Cartel, even people who still call them the MataZetas, or who I still mistook for the Millennium Cartel. Then, Menchito, who was only 25 years old at the time, ordered this attack, which completely shattered what we knew about the actions of organized crime. Because, on the one hand, they used First, a .50-caliber weapon publicly to shoot down a federal forces aircraft, and second, a Russian-made rocket launcher.

I was telling you about a criminal organization with significant firepower, and then the attack on an aircraft in which they knew federal police were on board. What we know is that Warrant Officer Iván Morales had received news hours earlier from his partner that he was going to be a father. And when the helicopter crashed, under attack, and he himself narrated it, he felt himself receiving the bullets, seeing how some of his colleagues had already been killed. His uniform was burning with him, which caused these terrible burns that we saw in this image that went viral.

An image where he was decorated in the National Arena with more than a minute of standing ovation, and he said, "At this moment, I'm going to have to make a decision or let myself die here because the pain is Unbearable, and what if I get captured and I'm going to have a worse time, or do I fight to survive because I have a child on the way, and he makes this very brave decision and survives? They decorate him. The state then gave him certain facilities, but what they didn't give him, apparently, was an escort to protect him after he participated in the Menchito trial, who is now serving a life sentence. The story is circular. Elisa, and it's terrible because 2025 becomes a decisive year for the two figures at the extremes of this story.

Menchito is going to life imprisonment with 35 years, or a very harsh prison sentence, and this one, I consider the federal police officer Iván Morales a hero. He is murdered along with his wife. Oh, what a story, exactly 10 years apart, and we've seenThis absolute growth of the power of a cartel in Mexico, right? Like few others, because of course we have in mind the Sinaloa cartel, which is also the root of all the other groups, right? But the growth of the Jalisco Cartel has been like that, right? In power, in capacity, right? And by the way, we were also commenting a moment ago that we've seen a lot of news related to the Jalisco Nueva Generación cartel, including operations, arrests, all of this, and the issue of the Sinaloa cartel has been put aside, at least in these arrests, in operations.

No, I don't know if that's what you think, Oscar. Has the information been lowered, or is more of this type of data coming in? In general, yes, we started the year with our eyes on what was happening in Culiacán? No, the fight between them, with the attention in May and then all this war that broke out after In September, Chapiza and Miza, and shortly after, we started this year saying the war in Culiacán has been going on for 100 days and it doesn't look like it's going to continue, and suddenly there was very intense pressure on Governor Rubén Rochamoya. There were even rumors that they were already preparing an embassy for him because he wasn't going to last much longer. Now, well, nothing else remains, because he remains in his position. I don't know if governing, yes, let's not say, with the position, with the position, but what happened is that first we got the news about Rancho Izaguirre, the images of the shoes, triggered a popular outrage that, I think, was dormant, and thanks to the power of images, society began to unite around a demand to know what happened at the ranch, whether it was an extermination camp, a training camp. We began to learn about the right-wingers.

Then we moved on to the issue of recruitment. Forced, and then
This infamous concert by Lo Alegres del Barranco comes along, which puts us back in front of narco-culture, and we begin to debate: whether we ban drug trafficking, regulate it, or remove it from public spaces. The Jalisco cartel was once again at the center. Then, for example, today, the United States Treasury Department puts an important leader of the Jalisco Nueva Generación cartel, El Priito, at the center of a series of financial tensions that are within the context of the Jalisco cartel now being considered a terrorist organization in the United States. So, yes, we have focused heavily on this cartel, whose explosive growth in 10 years has shown that it could have international reach. The latest count is that it has representatives in more than 55 countries around the world, as far away as New Zealand. Imagine how big this criminal group is. And yes, I think we have lost sight of others. That may not be in the national discussion at this moment, but they control the daily lives of millions of people. Exactly. Exactly. And especially there in Culiacán, specifically. Right? Yeah, Sinaloa. Yes, the war is raging there. Reality overwhelms. Yeah. Regardless of all this very relevant news that we're reporting every day, aren't there these stories? And yes, today the murder of this man, this former federal police officer, is confirmed. These images that went around the world, that we're seeing, and it's incredible that after testifying against El Menchito, the son of the leader of the Jalisco Nueva Generación cartel, he didn't have this total and absolute protection, of course, because, besides, my reflection is that federal police officer Iván Morales, eh?

He could have easily said, "I've already done my service to Mexico." And no one could accuse him of more than fulfilling his promise. When they put the uniform and the badge on him, God gave more than he could give. The scars on his body are a sign of that commitment. And even after he had hung up his uniform, he went to present himself to the United States Attorney's Office. He gave his testimony, knowing the risk, that is, the fulfillment of his duty had already surpassed him. He still found the courage to serve Mexico. Injured in civilian clothes with the least possible protection.

And so, I do believe that after this, Elisa, we will have to reflect on two things: one: are we adequately protecting the witnesses who are about to begin because we still have several trials ahead of us in the United States, and there are many people in Mexico who are sufficiently protected. We have sufficient bodyguards in number and in training to protect them. And second, will she receive a tribute? Will she receive a mention? At least in the morning press conference, his commitment will be honored because it seems to me that as narco-culture advances, yes, of course, in various regions, the culture of honoring our heroes also had to advance, the people who go above and beyond the call of duty and who, from a silent position because we didn't know about the non-commissioned officer for a long time, had a very important role to pacify this country. If you want, let's listen and see the moment when the helicopter was shot down 10 years ago. Isn't this this moment that sowed a very important situation that continues to this day, which had to do with the sentence that the United States received from Menchito for this incident. It was one of the shocking cases that the jury heard in the United States about del Mencho's son, and well, and that also led to the terrible murder that was confirmed today.

That happened last night, that happened 10 years ago. years no survivor of this tremendous attack 10 years ago. Terrible, terrible, the reading that leaves this, that the audience is the one who does the reading, but it does seem to me that it is terrible. Thank you very much, thank you, as always. Good night, good night.

Christopher Landau, US Undersecretary of State, condemned the "glorification" of El Mencho, leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), and confirmed the revocation of visas for members of Los Alegres del Barranco following their two concerts in which images of Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes were projected.

In a message on his X account, Landau shared a video of the event and noted that, although he "firmly believes in freedom of expression, that does not mean it should be exempt from consequences. The Mexican group Los Alegres del Barranco disseminated images glorifying the drug trafficker 'El Mencho'—leader of the bloody CJNG cartel—at a recent concert in Mexico."

The US official also emphasized that the Trump administration takes its responsibility to regulate foreign access to its territory very seriously, stating that "the State Department has revoked the work and tourist visas of the group's members." "We're not going to roll out the red carpet for those who glorify criminals and terrorists," he added.

To date, the members of the norteño group from San José del Barranco, Badiraguato, have not issued an official statement on the matter.

It was a Collegiate Court that rejected the challenge that the Attorney General's Office filed against the sentence that Judge Perla Fabiola Estrada Ayala, of the Federal Criminal Justice Center, residing in Cuernavaca, issued last January in favor of González Valencia, considering that the Michoacan woman had good conduct and had served 69% of her sentence, for which she determined to set her free.

González Valencia left the Federal Center for Social Readaptation for Women in Coatlán del Río, Morelos, accompanied by her lawyer.

González Valencia, arrested for the second time in November 2021, must appear once a month before the Precautionary Measures Supervision Unit, prove to the judge the address where she will reside and the work she will do.

In December 2023, Rosalinda González Valencia was sentenced by a federal judge to five years in prison for her responsibility in the crime of money laundering, in the form of concealment.

According to the sentence, between 2015 and 2016 the Michoacan woman hid operations in a bank account linked to a car wash she had in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco.

In Teuchitlán, authorities found and dismantled an apparent organized crime recruitment camp at the end of January. At the site, 38 people were arrested by elements of the Mexican Army, National Guard and Attorney General's Office; today 36 are free. Here are the details and an update on the case:

A judge released 36 of the 38 people arrested on January 29 at an organized crime training camp located in the municipality of Teuchitlán, Jalisco; the defense managed to prove that the released people were recruited against their will.

After a hearing that lasted five days in the federal courts of the Puente Grande penitentiary complex, the judge decided to bring to trial only two people who were allegedly in charge of the training camp and charged them with the crimes of organized crime, deprivation of liberty and forced disappearance.

The camp was located by elements of the Defense, the National Guard and the Attorney General's Office near the town of La Vega and in addition to the arrest of the 38 people who were there, chemical precursors, tactical equipment, radio communicators, chargers and live cartridges were seized.

During the hearing, it was revealed that the 36 people released were recruited through deception and then forced to stay in the camp, where they were allegedly subjected to torture and training as hitmen.

As of Friday, authorities have not reported whether any of the 36 people who were released on Thursday afternoon have been reported missing.

He added that his client does not have another complaint, criminal case or arrest warrant pending against her and explained that the Court of Appeals has three to five business days to resolve the challenge.

According to the lawyer, if the Court confirms the judge's decision, Rosalinda González should be released immediately.

MEXICO CITY (apro).- A federal judge granted early release to Rosalinda González Valencia, wife of Nemesio Oseguera González “El Mencho,” leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), however, she will not be released from prison immediately.

In the municipality of Coalcomán in the state of Michoacán, a public event generated controversy after, according to videos posted on social networks, the event organized by the municipality thanked Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, alias “El Mencho”, leader of the Jalisco Cartel - New Generation (CJNG), for gifts to local children.

At the event, held in recent days, there was a sign that read:

“The children of Coalcomán thank Mr. Nemesio Oseguera and his sons 2 and 3, and Commander Delta 1 for their noble gesture! Thank you for your gifts!”.

On Nacho Lozano's Imagen Noticias newscast, headed last night by Crystal Mendivil, it was also reported that last December 10, during the anniversary of the founding of the municipality, a corrido in honor of “El Mencho” was included during a cockfight, in front of local authorities.

Government Reactions

The governor of Michoacán, Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla, strongly condemned the events through his social networks:

“In Michoacán we condemn the apology of those who promote violence. For this reason, we ask the @FGR to thoroughly investigate the municipal authorities of Coalcomán for their probable links to a criminal group”.

Likewise, the government of the entity requested the removal from office of the mayor of Coalcomán, Anabel Ávila, of the Movimiento Ciudadano party, to facilitate the investigation of her possible involvement in these acts.

The fact has caused indignation in social networks, where users demand strong legal actions against those who participate in these practices, which contribute to the normalization of violence and social control by organized crime.

Good evening to all the people of Buenavista and its surroundings. As you can see, we are inviting all the people to avoid going out after midnight. Don’t let your young men ride in cars after midnight. Because as you can see, we’re already here and we are against all the scumbags and anyone who is participating in and supporting the Tepeque (Tepalcatepec, Michoacán) mob.

Likewise to La Mancha, Perico, or Robatico. We’re especially coming after these three individuals. The heads of La Mancha or Perico is what we’re wanting. We also want to make this call to all the honest policemen. It’s in your best interest to get out of our way.

We’re planning on hitting every policeman from the town of Tepeque who are out here driving around in their cloned patrol vehicles. The truth is that these men aren’t even real policemen. They have within their ranks Colombian nationals and are unauthorized lawmen. Therefore, we’re coming after these individuals.
