Four Killed by Gunmen in Attack at Sports Field in Cárdenas, Guanajuato

Five are dead and another five are wounded after gunmen broke down the door and opened fire inside a drug rehab clinic in Salamanca, Guanajuato last night. Police attempted to chase the assailants, but their vehicles were disabled when the fleeing men dropped caltrops on the road, disabling three police vehicles.

Guatemalan Military Deploys to Help Refugees and Guard Northern Border with Mexico

The Guatemalan government has deployed 100 soldiers to its northern border with Mexico to provide assistance to Mexican refugees and "guarantee the sovereignty" of its borders, they announced in a statement this morning. 580 men, women , and children have fled criminal violence in the Mexican border state of Chiapas to seek refuge in Guatemala.

Mexican security forces found an abandoned improvised armored vehicle, or "blindado" while patrolling in the municipality of Juventino Rosas, in Guanajuato state. While criminal groups across Mexico frequently employ these homemade vehicles in combat, they are rarely spotted in Guanajuato state.
