Federal and state authorities carried out a joint operation that led to the capture of Ramiro Ulises “N,” alias “Commandante Galindo,” who is believed to head the “Operativa Delta” cell of the CJNG in eastern State of Mexico.
According to the State of Mexico Attorney General's Office, Commandante Galindo is allegedly the leader of a criminal cell calling itself "Operativa Delta".
Their area of operation included the municipalities of San Martín de las Pirámides, Teotihuacan, Temascalapa, and Otumba. Their main criminal activities include fuel theft, drug trafficking, kidnapping, and human trafficking.
Following El Mencho's killing on 22 February, there were numerous arson attacks in and around this criminal cell's territory in Mexico State. Three branches of Banco del Bienestar were set on fire, along with an Oxxo store, multiple vehicles, including a tractor-trailer, an ADO bus, and pickup trucks that blocked the Mexico-Puebla highway for hours.

It is possible that Commandante Galindo was targeted by the government for his criminal groups involvement in these retaliatory attacks, a trend Borderland Beat has reported on.
