FBI's Most Wanted Trafficker Ryan James Wedding Surrenders in Mexico

"Socalj" for Borderland Beat

The story of an Olympic snowboarder who then ventured into a 20 year career in trafficking first marijuana, then dozens of tons of cocaine across two borders, ended at the US Embassy in Mexico City last night.

FBI's most wanted trafficker, Ryan James Wedding surrendered himself at the Embassy. He had been wanted for trafficking and ordering multiple murders including that of his longtime partner who became an FBI informant.

Following his trip to Mexico City to meet with Mexican officials, FBI Director Kash Patel announced the arrest of Canadian trafficker Ryan James Wedding. He was officially arrested by an FBI HRT team at the US Embassy after turning himself in. Wedding has already been flown out of the country to Los Angeles as part of a prearranged deal.

No word yet if a lawyer helped negotiate his surrender as his previous Toronto based attorney was also arrested as part of the investigation.

An AI modified image of Jeffrey Epstein was posted.

In the weeks leading to his surrender, a 7 year old Instagram account was updated and renamed @bossryanw. The account posted several AI generated images, including several face swaps on Jeffrey Epstein photos. The account quickly gained over 70,000 followers and is believed to have been a trolling account not connected to Wedding.

    1. All this captured nonsense. Law enforcement didn't do shit, he turned himself in. The real question is this: just how fucking bad have these cartel wars gotten that Wedding willingly ran for the American Embassy versus, and at bare minimum using his millions to get some plastic surgery so he could at bare minimum try to disappear in South America or some other non-extraditable country? Hard to believe how many just gave up with the money/crypto easily more than enough for a thousand comfortable lifetimes living simply. Max in Colorado almost makes being tortured to death the easier road.

  2. Very smart White man.
    Make some kind of deal.
    Do a 10 year bid.
And come out to enjoy and spend the hundreds of millions that he's got stashed away.
I don't understand why not more kingpins follow this tactic.

  3. Two different stories I have seen, he turned himself in at the US Embassy, and then in Vanity Fair, there is an account that the FBI HRT team was involved in a dramatic arrest and a negotiated surrender.

  5. J, from what I have read, it seems to be a negotiated surrender at the US Embassy, so US soil, and those who officially arrested him were from the HRT team and Critical Incident Response Group of the FBI.

  7. I’d believe it’s more likely he cut a deal and turned himself in but is sounds so much better if a specialized fbi team captured him lead by trump of course can’t forget that

  9. Something must have changed. Or there is some other play here. Protection pulled.

Turning himself in on murder charges....murder of a US witness. And a cooperating witness, who was his right hand. It's not like other ones who just have drug charges.

    1. There's two informants, one that wore the wire that was killed in Colo who was just someone Wedding bought product from
The second informant is A Clark: was his right hand until arrested and is still alive and cooperating witness

  12. Good luck with finding someone within Trump's DOJ that knows how to take a case to court and get a conviction. Trump fired all the ones who had a good working brain. Maybe Mrs. Pirro can stay sober long enough to get the job done.

  15. Why turn yourself in when you’re facing multiple murder charges. Might as well stay on the run forever

  16. Better to turn yourself in & make a deal do maybe 15 out in 10 pay a big ass fine but still have hundreds of millions tucked away. Live the next 20 years after that free

  21. The FBI "hostile arrest" narrative is pure Hollywood. If people actually listened to what Omar Garcia Harfuch said, it’s clear: Wedding walked into the embassy and turned himself in. You don’t do that unless the exit ramps have all been turned into brick walls.

The timeline makes it pretty obvious. Ever since Panu was taken out, the writing has been on the wall. Wedding wasn't some untouchable mastermind; he was a liability whose utility was expiring. My guess? He’d been signaling or talking to the Feds for a minute. When you’re caught between a lifetime in ADX Florence and the very real possibility that Iván is about to "retire" you to keep secrets quiet, the embassy starts looking like a five star resort.

He didn't get "caught" - he chose a side before his own side chose to dispose of him. The walls weren't just closing in; they were about to collapse.
