The bodies of three young men were left on the side of the Salamanca–Celaya highway in Guanajuato state on August 18th. The men were likely kidnapped from the same area earlier that day, where three youths were reportedly taken.

A video of the three bodies was posted online later on August 19. The video shows the corpses in full daylight. Law enforcement received a call reporting the bodies just before 8:00 PM, almost an hour after sunset in Salamanca. This means the video was taken long before the police were notified, possibly even by the culprits who left the corpses.
