Two Foreign Nationals Among The Five Detained In An Operation In The Zacatecan Capital

"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat

One of the operations was carried out in the Sierra de Álica neighborhood, where three men were arrested.

This Tuesday morning, the spokesperson for the State Peace building Committee reported on two operations carried out yesterday, Monday afternoon in the historic center of the capital of Zacatecas, in which five people were detained, including a Colombian and an Ecuadorian. In addition, one of the detainees was injured.

In a statement, the Spokesperson detailed that the arrests were the product of intelligence work and coordinated field work between the Zacatecas Immediate Reaction Forces, the Mexican Army and the National Guard.

As reported by El Sol de Zacatecas yesterday, one of the operations was carried out in the Sierra de Álica neighborhood, where three men were detained: Fredy Armando N., 43 years old, originally from Nayarit; Alfredo N., 33 years old, from Veracruz; and Christopher N., 37, from Zacatecas. One of them was injured and was taken to a hospital for medical attention.

These individuals were in possession of three long firearms, 10 magazines, 300 rounds of different calibers, 20 doses of marijuana, 400 doses crystal meth, and 400 doses of cocaine. They also had three ballistic vests, three ballistic helmets, two communication radios and a cell phone.

The detainees were traveling in a GMC Sierra 1500 truck, which had a current theft report which was seized.

The second operation was carried out in the historic center of the capital, where two men identified as Nilson N., 31 years old, originally from Colombia, and Valdemar Victorino N., 42 years old, from Ecuador, were arrested. From these individuals, 50 packages crystal meth, 10 rounds, two false INE credentials and two identifications were seized, one from Colombia and the other from Ecuador.

Apparently, the culprits were trying to flee after the capture of the first three detainees. The five arrested claimed to be members of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel.

The five people, along with the weapons, magazines, rounds, drugs, tactical equipment, credentials and vehicle, were made available to the competent authority to carry out the corresponding investigation.

  1. This just proves previous stories of CJNG recruiting members from South America. If you think the economic state of Mexico is bad try living in Ecuador or Colombia. It's even worse there. That is why it's easy to recruit these guys and feed them to the grinder that is this current cartel wars in Mexico. Nuff Said!!!

    3. 10:05 - Last month, there was a shootout between the Mexican military and CJNG in Tabasco. The shootout left 3 CJNG members dead and 18 CJNG members arrested (2 of which were wounded). But the reason why I bring it up is because more than half of the CJNG members arrested were from Guatemala. If I remember correctly, 11 out of the 18 CJNG members arrested were from Guatemala. The most recent update I could find on this case is that all of the foreign nationals arrested were deported while the Mexican nationals are all still in prison and were all sentenced to trial.

    8. Sir Nuffy, though technically an orphan (abandoned by his horrified mother at birth), found solace in the loving household of Uncle Scruffy and Aunt Muffy, who raised him to be the man he is today!
      For this we give thanks.

    2. Is CDN Panteras death related to the death of Macho Guero from OP MZ? Supposedly CJNG did to him what they did to Comandante Tecolote.
