Elements of the Attorney General's Office (FGR) in coordination with the Secretary of the Navy found a clandestine automobile workshop, located in the streets of the Gustavo A. Madero district in Mexico City

The workshop had special machinery to armor the cars and equip them with heavy weapons, which was secured by the authorities.

The fact was revealed by the journalist of the C4 program on Alertan Carlos Jiménez, who through his account on X he shared a video of what was confiscated.

"Trucks with handmade armor, special attachments for weapons, caltrops... Units similar to those used by drug traffickers in Tamaulipas, Jalisco," the newscaster wrote in his X account.

The journalist highlighted that the machinery seized at the site is similar to that used by drug trafficking groups in Jalisco and Tamaulipas.

They arrested leader of La Ronda 88

The Attorney General's Office (FGR) with the support of the Secretary of the Navy (Semar) captured Fabián Solís Vega, El Fabián, alleged leader of the criminal group La Ronda 88, after an operation carried out on Arequipa Street, between Lindavista Avenue and Sierra Vista, at interior number 833, in a two-story residential house that has two entrances, one pedestrian and the other vehicular, in the Gustavo A. Madero neighborhood of Mexico City.

According to federal officials, the operation was carried out by the agent of the Federal Public Ministry assigned to the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime (FEMDO), while the National Registry of Detentions (RND) indicates that the capture occurred on Sunday, February 3) at 12:10 p.m.

Federal officials also assured that Fabián Osvaldo Solís Vieyra, El Cachorro, son of El Fabián, identified by the authorities as the second in command of the criminal group, was detained, but his name does not appear in the RND.

Criminal records of the detainees

In June 2023, El Fabián left the Federal Center for Social Readaptation (Cefereso) number 12 in Guanajuato, a place to which he had been taken due to the level of danger represented by his presence in a prison in Mexico City.

He had been arrested in 2021 in Acapulco, Guerrero, where he took refuge after an attack by a rival group: for his part, the crime he faced was criminal association, which does not merit informal preventive detention.

His release from prison resulted from a change in precautionary measures and began his trial in person, after paying a fine of 25 thousand pesos and signing in every 15 days.

As for El Cachorro, it is indicated by the Attorney General's Office (FGJ) of Mexico City to operate mainly in the Ex Hipódromo de Peralvillo neighborhood, in the Cuauhtémoc neighborhood, as well as the Gustavo A. Madero district.

He was also linked to the invasion of property and the theft of auto parts.

In recent days, the FGR and Semar have undertaken a series of operations against priority objectives, the strongest blow was delivered on February 18, when Hugo Enrique Cruz Hernández, El Barbas, with alleged cartel links to that of the Gulf and Sinaloa cartels. And the criminal groups La Unión Tepito and Nuevo Imperio, the latter a spin-off of the Sinaloa cartel, was located in Mexico City.
