CELAYA - In a tragic event, a firefighting unit that was on its way to attend one of the fires set this Sunday afternoon at the blockades in the city of Celaya, was the target of a shooting attack at the corner of Avenida Constituyentes with Mutualismo and Rosas Moreno Street. Unfortunately, one of the brave officers lost his life as a result of this violent incident.

The events occurred after 4:00 p.m. this Sunday, in the midst of the chaos generated by the burning of vehicles in the Laja Bajío region. The firefighters, responding to an emergency call, were surprised by gunshots at the aforementioned corner. The driver lost control of the vehicle, which was left outside a convenience store.

The deceased, identified as Felipe Jiménez Sánchez, was hit three times in the chest during the attack. Although he was immediately taken to a private hospital for medical attention, his life was unfortunately not saved.

On social networks, several firefighters from other municipalities expressed their sorrow and strongly condemned the aggression against their colleagues. They emphasized that they "are not part of the conflict", but that their sole purpose is to provide support to those in need.

This tragic event leaves the community of Celaya in mourning and highlights the vulnerability of the emergency services who bravely face extreme situations to safeguard the lives and property of citizens.

  1. This is incredibly unfortunate. With the police you have to wonder if they are involved with cartels sometimes, but not the bomberos.

  6. TO THE INDIVIDUAL SAYING THE FIREFIGHTER IS INVOLVED WITH ORGANIZED CRIME.. YOU ARE CLUELESS!

READ FIRST THEN POST YOUR SENSELESS COMMENT.

THE FIREFIGHTER - PARAMEDIC WAS KILLED WHEN RESPONDING TO A CALL OF A VEHICLE FIRE WHICH WAS SET BY CARTEL MEMBERS.. CARTEL MEMBERS SHOOT AT THE FIREFIGHTERS SO THEY WOULD NOT RESPOND TO THE CALL FOR EMERGENCY.

It's these trolls that chase people off of this site. I don't know if you recall Dustan Jackson or not. About a year and a half ago BorderlandBeat did a story on his case when he was kidnapped, robbed and they tried to kill him with a machete in Cancun. I emailed him and he was interested in doing an interview with BorderlandBeat and he was generous enough to respond here on BB. All of the trolls here accused him of trying to score jale, etc. and he totally wrote off BorderlandBeat. Rather than getting a story with a highly publicized victim, BorderlandBeat got nothing.

    1. Yeah I've said it for the longest now. Too many morons come through here commenting dumb shit. Especially if you speak out against their favorite cartel. Even though I've said plenty of times that every organization is just as evil as the others. Strangely enough some clowns are convinced that there's that one cartel that's the lesser evil. Pinché gente más pendeja que mandar hacer. 🤣

The problem is they let the dumb shit through and block our comments when we try to respond to these morons. It's better not to let troll comments through in the first place.
