Tijuana, Baja California: The Arellano Félix Cartel Bans the Sale of Fentanyl

"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat

The Arellano Felix Cartel willingly decided to bend over for Mexican and American lawmen this morning with the release of numerous narco messages prohibiting the sale of fentanyl.

Their sudden about-face is consistent with what the Cartel de Sinaloa have also done in recent weeks in order to draw law enforcement pressure away.

Needless to say their communiques went through the usual hypocritical motions of prohibiting the very poison that they didn’t have a problem selling to anyone before.

Narco message reads as follows:

Due to the strong epidemic suffered by our country and our neighboring country. And while being faithful to our principles. We join the government's effort and the CDS initiative to eradicate the lethal drug known as fentanyl.

It’ll now be prohibited to sell as it initially was from our company. In addition, we will also prosecute and punish anyone who manufactures, sells, transports or crosses this drug over international borders.

Yours truly, The Tijuana Cartel

    1. Yes they’re the same

    2. No they're not. @12:41

Caf has never labeled itself "cartel de tijuana".

It was guero chompas and his people who branded themselves. "Cartel de tijuana nueva generacíon".

    3. 4:02 you see they didn’t add the nueva generation at end, people have sometimes referred to caf as cartel de tijuana long before cjng were a thing it might be CAF rebranding themselves since it seems the Arellano Felix family not as heavily involved as days past

    5. 4:02 Nobody’s saying they called themselves that 🤦

    6. I’m going to weather out the storm for those who were not even a living particle when the AFO put themselves on the map 35 years ago. The Arellano Felix clan just didn’t label themselves the moniker to sound intimidating. They earned it with stripes after multi-million dollar test runs. I believe it was in 1991 or 1992 when Benjamin flew to Cali, Columbia and was well received by the Cali godfathers. Soon after, the Cali boys blessed the AFO as “cartel de Tijuana” and they sure ran with it. El Mayel used to unload tons on a monthly basis and ship them out through the Ensenada ports. Cartel de Tijuana is old money

  11. They should take it back to the old school way and make herion and get rid of fetanyl.. I’ve seen herion addicts function and live but fetanyl addicts cannot and u can see the difference between the 2 drugs and what it does 2 people. Not saying herion is good either but I would rather that be out here then fake Xanax, Percocet, adderal pills. People think there taking one of those and it’s fetanyl…

    2. They really do need to switch back to heroin. Powder heroin. The profit margins are insane. But yeah..you're right. They need to dial down the fake pills that are killing people.

    3. 11:10 the only reason the brats took fent and ran with it because it cut out paying the farmers and all the people in the middle. Heroin is better for the poor farmers of mexico unfortunate fact.

  14. Did caf just become cartel de Tijuana? I know it’s the same or it’s not a Arellano felix thing no more. Did they remove the arellanos, and its flaquitos cartel de Tijuana alliance with chapitos. Nueva escuela. Or maybe the message was guided by the government

    1. It's Flacos group who has a direct line of comm with Nini's group

Was told (on here) that they only communicate through radio, and no one really trusts each other

but they united around 2020, after Los Cabos/CJNG were dropped from CJNG and Flacos side

This is consistent messaging being deployed to buy favor with Mexican politicians/authorities to relieve US pressure

if the street price jumps, you'll know that it was genuine to some degree. if it stays the same, it's all PR and no substance.

    2. 5:24 It is legit in Sinaloa. All the tourist pharmacies are unable to get any pain meds until the beginning of the year they said. Last availability was a few weeks ago.
Even specialty legit government pharmacies have been refusing to carry Oxy for years due to the name and it's connection to the pandemic, and instead would supply microdose morphine but extremely limited for palliative/end of life care. CDMX was only having a dozen boxes available throughout the full city at a time.
Lots of people with actual severe chronic pain in a dire situation now due to the failures of the US dysfunctional "pain management" system and their supply of at least something to help with the pain being cut which is a fate worse than death.

  22. Only in the case of Rosarito was the number of mantas removed confirmed, but in general the veracity that there were 18 in total was not confirmed, of which it turned out that there were 7 in Tijuana, 4 in Ensenada, 3 in Playas de Rosarito, 2 in Tecate, 1 in San Quintín and 1 in San Felipe.
