Politician Kidnapped, Narco messages against Mayo - Criminal Violence in Mexico Roundup August 22, 2023

By "Enojon" and "El Huaso" for Borderland Beat

The contributors at Borderland Beat aim to cover newsworthy and relevant stories related to organized crime and security in Mexico. However, this means that we sometimes miss the many small footprints left by organized crime groups around the country. This article aims to cover more of these events which do not merit a full article. Let us know if this works. We are always open to suggestions and feedback.

Chiapas, Tapachula - Soldier killed in armed attack, reported La Jornada.

Chihuahua, Cuauhtémoc - A narco message against “Los Mayos” hung. Translation by Sol Prendido below.

This message is for Governor Maru Campos Galván and the FGE (Attorney General of the State of Chihuahua). Could it be that the Los Mayos gunmen have bought out Mando Único and The National Guardsmen? And that you’re just in denial about this matter. Meanwhile all the media’s confirm that they’re actually here. You’ll never be able to take us out of the Rubio community.

* Mando Único aka Single Command are Chihuahua’s state security forces.

Guanajuato, Celaya - A man originally from Piedras Negras, Coahuila arrested with weapons and drugs, reported AM Noticias.

Guerrero, Coyuca de Catalán - A group of 20 armed men kidnapped Jaquelín González, a government official who had recently been transferred there, reported El Pais.

Morelos, Cuernavaca - A narco message left along with plastic bags with human remains.

Zacatecas, Fresnillo - A woman was shot and killed in La Encantada Park, initial reports claim eight individuals were involved in the incident, reported Zacatecas En Imagen.

Monterrey, Nuevo León - A body was discovered in La Silla river, while no cause of death has been determined the remains reportedly showed signs of violence, reported Milenio.

Guanajuato, Celaya - Three poles with security cameras were knocked down by unknown individuals, reported Celaya News.

CDMX, Itzapalapa - A severed pig head was left next to a narco banner near a church, reported Milenio.

Estado de Mexico, Timilpan - A gang of four extortionists was captured, reported Milenio.

    3. I have to agree with 12 pm. I saw a woman once being guided on how to remove the facial skin of some guy. The crazy thing is that the guy telling her “ yeah baby cut right there…..oooooh yeah baby you’re doing sooooo good”

It sounded like they were fucking while she was cutting the skin off.
