San Juan del Río, Queretaro: El Terremoto From CJNG Leaves Human Remains and Threats

"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat

Human remains and threats from a criminal group found in San Juan del Río

Apparently, there is a detainee related to these events; intense police presence at the site.

In a macabre discovery, human remains and a tarp with threats from a criminal group were found on highway 300 that connects San Juan del Rio with Amealco, near the Vista Hermosa neighborhood and over the railroad tunnel, at kilometer 189 of the Juarez highway. The news generated an intense movement of security and police forces in the area.

Unofficially, it was learned that among the human remains a head and a tarpaulin with threats against the authorities of the entity were found. Apparently, there is a detainee related to these events, who was transferred to the city of Queretaro.

This finding comes in the midst of a wave of violence that began with the execution of five people in the municipality of Tequisquiapan, the execution of an alleged drug dealer in La Valla, and an initial threatening tarp outside a primary school in Nuevo San Juan, near the San Juan del Rio Public Security Secretariat, and one day after the arrival of 300 federal forces in the state.

The municipal police were the first to respond to the incident, and it is believed that they detained the suspect themselves. Subsequently, at least fifty elements from different police forces and the Mexican Army arrived.

Experts from the Attorney General's Office of the State of Queretaro carried out the examination and removal of the human remains, as well as the tarp with messages from the criminal group. Due to the violence exhibited in these events, the security cordon was extended to almost 200 meters from the area of the discovery. However, Highway 300 was not blocked while investigations were being carried out.
