"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat

El Cholo Ivan and his boss, Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman

The decision of the Fourth Collegiate Court in Criminal Matters of the Second Circuit was taken unanimously, so that the Attorney General's Office may hand over "El Cholo Iván".

A Federal Court granted authorization to the Mexican Government to hand over to the United States Jorge Iván Gastelum Ávila, also known as El Cholo Iván, who is allegedly Joaquín El Chapo Guzmán's security chief.

He is also allegedly the head of the Sinaloa Cartel's hitmen. The decision of the Fourth Collegiate Court in Criminal Matters of the Second Circuit was taken unanimously. After the decision, the Attorney General's Office (FGR) may hand over Jorge Iván Gastelum.

The facts were reported by Milenio media during the afternoon of Tuesday, February 14. It should be noted that El Cholo Iván was a man trusted by El Chapo Guzmán.

Jorge Iván Gastelum was requested by the Federal Court for the District of Columbia, where he is accused of two charges, one for conspiracy to distribute one thousand kilograms or more of marijuana and five kilograms or more of cocaine and the other for using and possessing a firearm.

  1. El Cholo Ivan made Arturo Beltran and Chapito Isidro have nightmares, they feared el Chapo's most dangerous hitman.

    7. Im from the area. But i wouldnt agree with you about ABL. CI, semi, but not completely either. Abl was never in sinaloa, his main grounds were exactly where he died also. CI has guasave on lockdown and these guys learned that. Cholo ivan DID manage to take control of los mochis and guamuchil though, that was CI territory, but he took em. Yes they caught him there but they were gonna catch him eventually. its inevitable, just like any other hitman/mafioso. But him and his crew were ruthless as F against the military. They got at it a lottt.

    8. They were able to take those territories because most Mazatlecos got killed by the army on their way to aid BLO allies in Choix. Sinaloa asked the army to step in

    9. Cholo and Chapós people have had GML on lock for decades. It was being contested back in 2008-2011 but Cholo was able to repel them with help from people from Culiacan as well as the independents from the Mocorito and Badiraguato Sierras. One can argue that Cholo was a headache and even stronger than CI back in the day but he stayed a Lt. while CI became a boss. He was never stronger, or even close, than ABL, that’s a funny statement to make.

    10. Que declaraciones. Cholo was a Lt , ABL Jefe De Jefes . While Cholo was one of the top Lts for Chapo, Isidro was the boss for BLO in Northern Sinaloa. You also forgot to mention how Cholo left his girlfriend to die in a shootout vs Isidro.

    12. It is funny how you people claim that Arturo Beltran was more powerful than Chapo and yet Arturo is dead and his cartel all gone. In less than two years of war BLO was gone. But according to some fools Arturo was bigger and more powerful. Lol 😝.

    14. 6:14 ABL was killed because Garcia Luna was backing chapo and BLO is still going, if Garcia Luna had gone after chapo the same way he went after ABL chapos group would of been wiped out in less than a year, lets be honest chapo was all hipe, shit didnt cholo ask for money in that famous audio and chapo didnt have any?

    2. @J murderers can never atone for their deeds, especially when they routinely hurt people for "infractions" and cause so much death because of the life they lead. The beauty queens loved ones surely must wish she hadn't linked up with Mr Brow Cholo

    3. I say try him for the murders he ordered in Mexico instead of sending him to the US. This guy wasn’t really involved with shipments, he just controlled territory in Sinaloa. The best they can argue is he protected CDS routes in Sinaloa.

  5. Why does USA have to extradite him? He should be tried and sentenced in Mexico if there are any warrants for him. I think it’s fucked up.

  8. He had a child bride, not the beauty queen that died in the shootout when they tried to capture him, but another by the name of yuriana I believe. There are still pictures on google of the two, she must have been 14 or 15. He knocked her up as there are still pictures on her Facebook of his baby but mother nowhere to be seen. I believe died around 2011 or 2012. So two dead women of this pendejo cholo Ivan

  13. They all push weight across the border, they are given a route and sometimes they are trusted enough to move boss’s weight (lower weights or last minute shit). They’re all dirty. Some even steal loads and they are given permission to cash in by moving it and who’s gonna say anything about it if they’re dead? CI was ruthless, but he’s older now and new kids in the block (Chapitos) are not aligned with him nonetheless his ideas.
