Through Twitter Ivonne Dámazo, widow of Alfredo Velasco Lares, director of Finance Audit of the State Government, who was shot and killed on Tuesday night in the vicinity of Bosques de Santa Anita, in Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, asked for justice to be done.

The Secretary of Administration, Ricardo Rodríguez Jiménez, wrote his condolences on said social network.

"I deeply regret the death of my colleague Alfredo Velasco Lares. This news hurts and we hope that the facts will be clarified. To his family and loved ones my sincere condolences. R.I.P."

Ivonne Dámazo responded and emphasized that the official was murdered. She also asked the authorities to watch over the future of her daughters.

"Things as they are Ricardo, he did not die, he was murdered! For keeping his integrity! And in the end that's what counts... I only hope that more than condolences you watch over the physical and financial security of his daughters.... That's what he put so much effort into the job for!"

  1. Can someone explain to me the importance of a State Bean-Counter to the cartel? I'm not trolling, it's just I don't know how this man's services would benefit a DTO. Please don't crucify me in the comments; I sincerely want to learn more.

The cartels frequently corrupt state and local officials with plato o plomo. There goal is usually to milk the state treasury. It's unlikely that this guy could withdraw funds from the treasury but the cartel probably thought he could. It could also have been to intimidate someone else working in the treasury.

  3. When you kill the auditor, it's to cover theft and corruption. But don't worry, Amlo has a plan to make Mexico into a new paradise where people are safe and government is honest and government works to help the people
