By "El Huaso" for Borderland Beat

Several shoutouts caused 8 deaths across four municipalities of Sonora last night. It is unclear at this point if the events were connected to each other.

The municipalities are San Luis Río Colorado, Rosario Tesopaco, Guaymas and Empalme.

San Luis Río Colorado

4 dead and 1 injured after a shootout two criminal groups outside a car wash. Police arrived to the aftermath after they received calls reporting gunshots at 6:29 p.m.. Authorities recovered cash, weapons, ammunition, tactical vests, and two vehicles.

Rosario Tesopaco

A criminal group killed one person, burned three vehicles, and shot up houses, according to state authorities. Around 8:30 p.m., locals posted videos showing burning vehicles and fleeing civilians to the background of automatic gunfire.

Guaymas

Authorities responded to reports of unrest at the San German prison. Milenio reported that armed men shot up the outside of the prison and attempted to gain entry, but failed. State authorities rejected this, posting on Twitter that the group did not try to enter the prison. Authorities clarified that inside the prison, inmates burned mattresses.

Milenio reported that a couple on a motorbike were killed in the morning. That afternoon, a shootout near a school caused students to take cover in their classrooms. Radar Sonora reported that gunfire was reported in nine different neighborhoods of Empalme, but no fatalities or injuries were reported in the afternoon.

After a shootout, three men with weapons were arrested by State Police and the Army.

  2. Would be a lot less drug slinging and violence in mexico, if Americans didn't teach their children to grow up into drug addicts! What??? you ask. Well the children are expose to drugs and alcohol when the parents are partying, if little golden child has a 'perceived problem' put them on ritalin or adderal or some other flocked up pharmaceutical pill instead of proper parenting and the MSM culture is about getting high and partying!

    1. Thanks for the feedback! That's a fair point. I updated the headline to better reflect that. There were other deaths unrelated to these 4 events, but I wanted to cover these 4 specifically in this article.

  12. Chapitos have the younger drugged out generation of Sicarios working for them and Mayo has the old school more serious generation of sicarios working for them that’s why (los Rusos )who work for (Mayo) are whipping (chapitos )crew (los Salazar ) in Sonora and Mexicali . These are issues between the cells of hitmen ( los Rusos mayos crew and los Salazar chapitos crew )who don’t get along not between the bosses Mayo and chapitos . So when there’s a problem like that the bosses just let the cells of hitmen fight it out and not get inlvolved unless it’s Causing too much heat and interfering with business then they will put a stop to it.

  14. Why don't the Cartel leaders ever get together like the Mafia heads do, and bang out their rules and territories? A bit of order amongst the chaos. There is so much more to be gained if they could all have a designated piece of the pie. Instead they are never satisfied and spend all of their time making life miserable, destroying an entire country, and their own people. Always on the run. I know it sounds ridiculous, but other criminal entities do this.

    3. Lastrw it was chapo tryed to call it the federation, actually half of the capos didnt like chapo but they knew it was for the better so they went with it, one of them been Lazca, remember the famous chapo frace to el Lazca to break the ice, "si fuera vieja hasta yo te cogia" but guess who backed stabbed and snitched on every one starting pretty much all cartel wars? The word "snitch" will give it away, 😉 you are welcome

    6. 5:15 La barbie and z chorrienta (40) also had a bad encounter in one of those meetings, but reason prevailed, and everybody went down later in spite of the friendship of zetas and arturo Beltran Leyva...genarco garcia Luna and FECAL betrayed all the suckers they could find, but garcia Luna also had nearby el Rey zambada, Vicente Carrillo Leyva, Vicente Zambada Niebla, some arellano felix and the Beltran Leyva, also la reina del pacifico, sandra avila beltran, since he formed the AFI for Fox; Mexican Army Captain ilyich Malagon also blames javier Lozano "el saco de pus" whose man, mexican army lieutenant el Bravo got sent "by Arturo Beltran Leyva" as a gift to el Chapo...
without corrupt military, the federal police would not be hijacked by criminals and politicos so easy, those criminals are not the "narcos", carlos salinas de Gortari was associate of policia federal commander guillermo Gonzalez Calderoni, childhood friend of juan garcia abrego and El Señor de los Cielos got a gift from them, the murder of Pablo Acosta Villarreal in Ojinaga with help of FBI helicopters coming in from the US...

  15. What's with sicarios never having any sights or optics? Yes, two of them have cheap Chinese Amazon optics but the bottom one had no front sight. I've noticed that they commonly have their weapons this way.
